May as well try and keep all this together for the next week.

Demebele withdrawn from Peterborough squad ahead of possible Bournemouth move.
V good against us.

Further reduces the possibility of them pulling their fingers out and relegating bloody Reading.

3rd bid rejected by Swansea for Paterson, short of his 750k valuation, apparently.

The other thing about Parker is it's like when Pulis is your manager. Even when it's going well, it's desperately boring to watch. All about holding what you have, staying deep tight and narrow, dark arts, time wasting, injury feigning, shithousing. It means that the very second it turns even slightly bad, there's zero goodwill left in the tank, because it was so fcking awful to watch in the first place people are already sick of it. Warburton has already survived one prolonged downturn here (four wins in nearly five months at the start of last season) because we enjoy watching his team, can see what he's trying to do, and it's progressive.

When you look at the form table you can see why they're panicking a bit though!

Saw Amrit warming up for Crawley Town who I go and watch every now and then - he is absolutely tiny, barely taller than Chair but half the size - no idea of his talent as he didn't get on the pitch but at the very least has A LOT of beefing out to go unlike Armstrong who, physically at least, could probably terrorise an ageing Championship centre half.

They love Reece Grego-Cox down there - we've had a decent pipeline for the lower leagues. Watching Josh Laurent on Sat you could see why he didn't make it though he's done well to make it back to the Champ.

Bournemouth can keep making signings but they can only put eleven on the pitch. It might get them up but no guarantee, and the Cantwell/Phillips money will be burned as they're expensive loans. All the pressure's on them to deliver.

Take or leave Paterson, personally.

I am content to stick with what we have got, Chair coming back is a bonus. Liked the look of Sanderson, and Marshall has been brilliant. McCallum will hopefully be back soon. Confident we will be in top six with current set up and momentum.

Yeh, who's the next Chair/Eze etc? Armstrong's the only one we really hear anything about now Kendall has gone. V interesting to see what's going on there.

Just thumbed through the u23`s thread and putting aside the arguments of player development etc, i read on there too our u18`s sit rock bottom of there league as they have done for the previous two years. So those u18`s who were getting beaten on a regular basis have now moved up to u23`s and kept that trend running.
It`s clear that somethings not right within the structure. Maybe the new training ground might change that, who knows.

On the Bournemouth thing, they have always spent money.

We had this discussion a while ago and there was one season where they were 3rd highest net spenders in the PL or something equally silly.

So whilst Parker may indeed be a media darling, think Eddie Howe, or the next England manager, as he was (still is?) called for ages is equally one in my view.

Still can't believe his bare faced cheek comment that Newcastle going to Saudi in the much needed winter break is "purely for football reasons"

Of course, he is being paid squilions and its his job to do and say what he is told, but even so there IS an argument that Bournemouth in his PL years there
underperformed v the money they spent.

It's not about results in these so-called leagues, surely? It's about getting one, maybe two players per season good enough to move into the first team squad proper.

Like a lot of us, I'm not too fussed about going up...but I do love the idea of us or Blackburn pipping Bournemouth or WBA to the second auto spot, and it would inspire all manner of Champ teams without parachute money too.

Bournemouth’s strategy could quite easily fail. It’s high risk racking and stacking players while trying to maintain a happy squad. Not to mention the time it’ll take to gel so many new players.

And to be honest I think Bournemouth’s biggest weakness is their manager. Surely any half decent manager would have that squad well ahead of the likes of Blackburn and QPR.

Oh absolutely, it's a massive gamble.
I had a look at the points per game predicted table today. Has Bournemouth in 2nd on 85 points then Blackburn 84 and QPR 83.

My point was to highlight the fact that the then were u18`s now run out for our u23`s which you would like to think within that group maybe a couple will progress through to the first team.
If the best we can achieve at this present time is loaning out players to struggling 3rd division teams and below to warm thier benches then i`m afraid in my eye`s something is off kilter.

Regarding talk of who’s coming through and do we have another Eze/ Chair. Two tough acts to follow but I’m still holding out for Oldham-chastened Faisal Bettache.

Think the club will put their hands up that the Oldham loan wasn't one they should have done with hindsight. The original logic was sound enough with Keith Curle there who was supposedly a reasonably good coach. What later transpired was that the whole club management and ownership were total loony toons and may not have been so obvious at the outset.

I think Bettache could still come good for us, he looked tidy enough when he played and fitted in with what was needed, getting him some game time at the lower levels was a good idea. The club rate him and extended his contract until 2023 with a further 1 year option, so hopefully he will do OK for us and step up before too long.

Never knowingly understood

The decision to stick with Warburton is going to be one people point to for decades when we talk about giving a manager more time. 9 our of 10 boards would have pulled the trigger there, I give ours a tremendous amount of credit for not doing so.

I have hopes for Duke-McKenna too. Reminds me of Martin Rowlands. Bettache as you say is very tidy, would like to see him in a good footballing side somewhere, like MK Dons or something.

Bare bones.

Thinking of our U23s, will we see not only Bettache but also Bansal-McNulty, Gubbins ad Armstrong, all of whom have had loans out this season, get more playing time elsewhere this season? I was hoping so but there's not much time left.

Obviously lots of conjecture and therefore a heavy pinch of salt in this, but this also looks just like some of football's worst excesses.

"Mr Chairman, my striker is out for a month or two. Quick! Get a new one in on a three-year contract!"

No wonder they have a gazillion players.

Yeah, we've been between 4th and 7th all season on that. West Brom the only one that has changed a lot, they are down the 7th now.
