We're the true fans unhappy? The true fans I spoke to who follow us home and away were not unhappy. Supporters knew it would not be an instant fix a would take time. Its makes the recent results all the sweeter. So called fans who post their opinions without speaking to true Supporters face to face really don't know what the majority of the fan base feel. |
I wasn't happy , patient , yes but unhappy far from it .Regardless of comparisons to other Clubs/managers /tea ladies and Uncle Tom Cobley and all ,the reasons are there why we had a poor start and if others can't understand that that well that's not for me to judge their credentials which I suspect are no better or worse than my own. |  |

perhaps not the best of examples but just look at carduffs result v Stoke , same side but a different manager .No disruption to the squad with players in/out , no worries about fitness levels and they all played alongside with each other previously . | |

Coopers record is unquestionable.
He took over us when the first team was decimated from the year before losing the likes of Dan James and Ollie McBurnie, rebuilt it, changed the style and got us to the play offs. The new players also had to get used to the new style and philosophy.
Second season he again rebuilt it after losing key players like Brewster, Gallagher and Rodon and improved us again. Spending very little in those two seasons (less in those two seasons combined than both singular seasons before and after alone)
He went to bottom of the league Forest, completely changed their style and then have gone on to lose 1 of 7, winning 4 of them. Not being able to bring in a single player and with no pre season to work on his new style with the players, and them having to learn the new style and philosophy on the fly.
We can praise Martin, for what he is doing currently. But slating Cooper or downplaying what he does every single year is just not going to hold any weight at all under the inspection of the facts. |  |

I don’t think I saw anyone call for his sacking, did you? That’s what “patience” is in reference to, we have no choice but to be patient, we are the fans not the board.
But it was made clear… “we like Martin, but needs to adapt, we back him to do it”.
Those people were right.
We were told he can’t adapt and nor should he.

Yup, as I said, it’s no mystery.
We had our worst start to a campaign since the Bob Bradley era, performances were terrible, tactics all wrong, completely rudderless. Zero creativity.
Fans as a result were rightly unhappy and were naturally discussing why we were performing so poorly.
We have since made some changes and are playing better and those fans are now happier.
It really isn’t rocket science. This is not a new phenomenon, this is what has been true forever. I can’t fathom why people are pretending it isn’t.
If we return to those levels of performances again then the fans won’t be happy again and I’ll be among them, if we are playing excellently then fans will be happy and I’ll be among them too… that’s football.
The issue for me comes when fans are moaning despite winning most weeks. Yet that seemed perfectly acceptable on here last season, oddly. Does seem rather political. |

I said that Martin needs to make changes from the initial style in order to improve. I even called the specific changes that he had to make to a tee.
Despite much of this board telling me he wouldn’t make any and that he is not adaptable, I was adamant that he would. He did.
13% long balls tonight, triple what we were seeing at the start.
I was also clear that there was nothing against Martin at all, just the poor performances and made it abundantly clear that my (correct) comments had no predictions of the future and were purely discussing what has happened in the games seen up until the points of comments.
Happy for you to quote me on something you believe I need to eat humble pie over. Anything will do.

Is anyone claiming that Martin listened to me, I certainly have no said that. Or even alluded to that.
My point is that the changes that were obviously needed to be made, he made. I recognised that very early and stated then clearly, I also backed Martin to carry out those changes as and when it became apparent to him.
Apparently calling that correctly means I now want Martin to lose and need to eat humble pie because I was right?
Makes no sense at all.
Simply just say “fair play Dr P, you backed Martin to change the style when others were telling you he wouldn’t. You got it spot on.”
