Now we have all had time to settle and reflect 17:05 - Sep 2 with 2857 views | KeithHaynes | The losses of Roberts and Lowe. Are they that impactive ? Lowe for me, no. Roberts is a huge loss his pace and strength are hard to beat. But will he be in a 442 or get the chance to be the wing back he loves to be ?

Now we have all had time to settle and reflect on 15:31 - Sep 3 by jasper_T | Gyokeres played against our u23s a few times and always looked dangerous. Just watched Wales u18s play England (1-1) and was reminded just how far that level is from the senior game. There's players there on both sides that could be working in a supermarket when they're 21. |
I thought the u17s and u19s were the professional game. U18s schools, colls etc - is that right Jasper ?

Not any more. UEFA set up a (since-delayed) Nations League format that will involve official u18s teams competing in the lead up to the u19s championships. It's the same pool of players spread across more teams now. A longer tournament cycle but with narrower age bandings so fewer players miss out on international football, if it ever gets started. Most of the u18s side that lost to England in March played for the u19s team that lost to Croatia the other day. The best 2005s (like Ben Lloyd) stepped up to join the remaining 2004s (Congreve, Cotterill) in today's u18s.

I think you should be more generous to the Welsh boys, draws with England area as rare as hens teeth. The Welsh underage groups are really strong at the moment with u17, u18, u19, and u21 all playing. A bit of Covid about as well. Resources are stretched but results decent. Quite a few u21 with the depleted first team squad. Johnson Ampadu Levitt. Matondo Neco out injured Cabango and Cooper covid protocols. The u21 are probably the weakest. Two very good Wolves players are hedging their bets. Chem Campbell and Owen Hesketh. They probably want to avoid the trouble Declan Rice had when he chose England. They will probably come around to Wales when they see the competition. The March loss was to a very powerful English team with Doyle and Delap who have played for Man city in the FA cup, Shortiere of Manchester utd, Jebbison who has been keeping McBurnie out the the Sheffied Utd team Scott who played on the wing for Bristiol city last week and three prospect from Villa Louis Barry, Ramsey and Chukuemba. Today English team was mostly from the same big teams plus Chelsea and Liverpool. Not too many of them will be stacking shelves in Tesco in my opinion. The Welsh team include 4 good Swansea lads Lloyd Congreve Cotterill and Evans GK. hey featured in a 4-0 win over Belgium last season. at u16 along with Popov (u19) and Cian Ashford of Cardiff who were standouts.
