Cricket tour v SA 12:00 - Dec 18 with 32057 views | D_Alien | Jimmy Anderson back in action since breaking down in August, and taking a wicket in the first warm-up game Looking forward to this tour, as the team looks to establish a new sense of purpose in the test arena. Ben Stokes had a great tour last time, and should be feeling in good fettle Incidentally, batting for the SA XI, Matthew Arnold. I wondered what he'd been up to after writing Dover Beach

Just hope Archer & Wood + Jimmy can stay injury free because that's a decent attack if they all play together

Just watching now. Is there meant to be any sound? Picture is OK but not hearing even bat on ball

Saw a bit of him in the Test against India that Sky was showing last summer. He can bowl off-spin alright and he can club the ball a fair distance with the bat, too. He needs to, as he isn't the quickest between the stumps.

No sound and no boundary camera, but still worth watching.

It's great. Probably exaggerated by the fact we've all been on a diet of re-runs on Sky up to now. I don't even need to remember to turn the volume down when interrupted by incessant calls on Teams either :)

Apart from the occasional bouts of turbulence, as if the cameraman is located atop a bouncy castle No doubt due to wind...

Hah. Yes, a little sea-sickness inducing.

Cricket tour v SA on 14:39 - Jul 3 with 1851 views | isitme | What this warm up game has shown is that there is some decent depth, especially in the batting. Team for the first test? Burns Sibley Crawley Lawrence Stokes Pope Buttler Bess Wood Archer Anderson/Broad I would play Crawley over Denly and Lawrence deserves a shot at four after a really good winter with the A team. The makeup of the bowling attack will be interesting. Bess had a decent winter and Ali hasn't done much in this game. Without Root we cannot really go into the game without a spinner. With the seamers you can perm three from at least six. I suppose it will be how they are rotated. There is almost an argument to perm one from Woakes/Curran, Wood/Archer and then Anderson/Broad. I would like to see both Wood and Archer play and then one of Anderson and Broad.

Switched to behind the batsman now, just like it used to be on the old BBC daytime coverage. I actually prefer the alternating view Edit: and the declaration. 255 from 46 needed, a rate of 5.54 Good to be talking about a different type of rate [Post edited 3 Jul 2020 14:48]

That was the kiss of death!! All that good weather down south & now it rains. Let’s hope it’s still a good game

The bowling has been impressive thought in conditions not great for batting. Arguably our two best batters in at the moment. [Post edited 9 Jul 2020 12:29]

Which makes the decision to bat first look even more baffling.

Especially if the weather gets better tomorrow when the Windies bat. I suppose it depends on how much the pitch deteriorates by the last innings.
