Good luck Bazza. If up here is anything to go by it's going to be a low-turn out, perhaps not surprisingly a lot of people quite pissed off with politics at the moment. Hard to tell what the ratio of pissed off remain-y Labour voters is to pissed off leave-y Tory voters is mind you.
Yeah already finding that. People have politics fatigue.

Good luck I was in Herfordshire and was shocked to see a Labour billboard outside of a house. I am used to certain London boroughs being 100 per cent Labour but home counties always seemed a different world to me though spoke to someone who discussed more use of food banks in certain areas which were considered affluent.
We have Foodbanks up here! Thought i'd left alll that behind. This is something I wrote in 2017:
I don't agree with all of your politics but I see you as a man of principles. I would be more than happy for you to represent me. Good luck, you're going to need it.
Geez Bazza I had no idea I was conversing with such an authentic political animal. Although I did think you were becoming a bit more of a finger pointer. Good luck keeping your snout out of the trough.

Not much of a trough to be had at Cllr level mate.

Quite a bit of responsibility, not much power, not much pay. A shed-load of work to be added to your day job, parenting etc. and everyone calling you a low-life for even trying.
There are some real dead losses as councillors but I wouldn't dream of doing it so respect due to anyone who does. I don't share your politics but good luck to you.

Yeah after all the expenses and time off taken without pay, it will probably work out costing me money.
Councillor I've been out with the past few weeks said basically the same. But he's bang in to it, and was trying to get me to stand next year. Said I'd need to cleanse my social media record mind you...

I know 2 councillors - one a committed Tory, the other a Labour man in a Tory stronghold. A lot of work for little (financial) reward. More a sense of public duty.
Good luck to anyone heading down that path. Even Bazza😉

Bad luck Baz. What's the deal with the independents there? Media have so far failed to analyse the success of independents in this election, probably because it's too much research.
