Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.
Montero did what Montero can do - glide past a defender and clip across a perfect ball. Llorente used the speed of the ball to glance it on. Too much for Heaton who palms it to Fer for an easy tap-in. Excellent goal and great win. No negative comments because it's the first game of the season. There were negatives but we'll leave for later.
Suffice to say, I wouldn't swap any Swan for a Burnley player.
Only 37 more points and we're safe! smile
Well done bois.

With the quality in the top sides this season, I think there will be teams surviving on 35 or 36 this season.
If you can fill the unforgiving minute.
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Perhaps 34 more points will be enough this season who Knows?.

Was really disappointed with Routledge today I must say. Didn't look on it at all and Montero instantly showed class and pace which had been missing pre-season. It's like the two completely flipped form on the day.
Was really impressed today with Mo, Leroy, Leon, Jack and Fabs. I think they all had excellent games. Fernando was good considering how little time he's had with the squad and I'm more convinced than ever that Kingsley should be our first-choice LB for this season.
Tough first game and would have been happy with a point. We got all three so happy days.

Good result, they put us under a bit of pressure in the second half but Fab kept us in it. Thought Naughton had a very good game too. Vokes and Grey did bully our centre halves a little in the second half, would like to see another one brought in with more of a physical presence.
The game had my heart racing a bit, but that is the Swans for you. We will get better and better.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

A good goal that. Everyone looking focussed there and Fer keeping alert unlike a certain off side merchant I could mention!!!
Sorry to arrive late on this one. Only got back yesterday from my BNM trip hic ;-) There are no easy games in this division and Burnley will not be a pushover for anyone. They played like an away side pressing hard upfield to stop us playing and when we had the ball sitting back in shape and relying on any scraps from long balls down the channels and set pieces. I agree we went for a few more row Z clearances but that could be do to renewed confidence at set pieces. We had the lion's share of possession and it would have been more had the numpty Moss been anything approaching a decent ref. We had the best chances and overall I thought all put in a decent shift. Frankie was spot on with his subs and the JA sang loud and proud. A great match and a lovely day out. We were made very welcome by the staff at the ground and the cricket club where it was great to see the kids playing together wearing their respective colours. After some initial worries I feel much more confident about this season now.

A real positive for me is that we had a lot of lads in box, at times last season we struggled to do so and I think if we keep that up we'll score more
On the highlights, you could see Fer on the half way line, as soon as the ball got out to Montero, he could see he was one on one and bombed forward to get into the box as he knew the cross was coming in, the defender couldn't cope.
Another reason why in my eyes, we should be playing with both Mo and Jeff.

You're looking at using two subs for them on the hour every week in all likelihood.

Or perhaps you don't want two wingers on the pitch at the same time that don't have a defensive bone in their bodies?
Trust Frankie to sort it out. I guess it will be a combo of working on the defensive game of such players plus using them wisely. I think we are already seeing an improvement in Jeff's game. As an aside he seems to be making Kyle a better defender while he is at it as well :-)

Don't agree, to be honest I think it's a myth.
Over and over again last year, we saw us exposes down the flanks operated by Routledge, I'm really not getting this defensive winger mentality we have here. I''m pretty certain while we have those two on the pitch, wing backs aren't going to be in any big rush flying up the park leaning the rest of their defense exposed to the pace of Mo and Jeff. If they do, good luck to them, I don't think it will end well for them.
