Is anyone really surprised by the score tonight? on 10:21 - Apr 9 by daveB | out of interest who would you bring in at this late stage who is available? Do we go with someone who can give a short term lift or someone for the future? Would be a big call to change it now. |
ok dave, ive just read bonds and redknapps comment on newsnow...words fail me. right. im ready for the flak..i would love chris powell(been saying that for as long as i can remember) heres a man who had an imposible job under that loon at charlton i would love russell slade i would love kenny jackett i would love gary johnson. some one who would see this as the job ther've been waiting for all their life. THE JOB , They would crawl over broken glass to get to . a job seen as a huge step up. not another 'flashman' gracing us with their prescence . id get people like waddock/clive allen/ les ferdinand/bardsley/wilson back into the club in some capacity..coaching/youth/reserves/school kids. like i said mate, thats IF we want to go up. i dont see it as a big call because were not going to get relegated but were not going to gain promotion if we stay in a state of inertia as we currently are. a change now will increase our chances of said promotion to the promised land from zero % to 50% . in my humble opinion [Post edited 9 Apr 2014 10:42]

>>>>>>>The emperor walked in the procession under his crimson canopy. And all the people of the town, who had lined the streets or were looking down from the windows, said that the emperor's new clothes were beautiful. "What a magnificent robe! And the train! How well the emperor's clothes suit him!" None of them were willing to admit that they hadn't seen a thing; for if anyone did, then he was either stupid or unfit for the job he held. Never before had the emperor's clothes been such a success. "But he doesn't have anything on!" cried a little child. "Listen to the innocent one," said the proud father. And the people whispered among each other and repeated what the child had said. "He doesn't have anything on. There's a little child who says that he has nothing on." "He has nothing on!" shouted all the people at last. The emperor shivered, for he was certain that they were right; but he thought, "I must bear it until the procession is over." And he walked even more proudly, and the two gentlemen of the imperial bedchamber went on carrying the train that wasn't there.<<<<<<. Is anyone really surprised by the score tonight? on 10:20 - Apr 9 by Hunterhoop | Dave, we're not children. I thought calling him a "moron" was very reasonable given the circumstances of the last few months and last night. It's hardly a nasty, personal attack. A lot of people have said a lot worse....don't see you picking up on everyone of them. I also only called him that in the context of 3 possible reasons for that team selection and approach. There were other options - and I've actually since told you it is one of the other options which I believe to be the truth, and not that he's a moron. Regarding your second point. Just because it's what I want, doesn't mean I think it's going to happen. I want it to happen but doubt it will. I think it should happen but doubt it will. I repeat, to be clear, I don't expect it to happen. And your last statement is not "simple as that really". You seem to be unable to accept it might not be "simple as that really" for other people. Managers should be judged on a damn sight more than results. As I've said many times, in my opinion, if we go up it will be in spite of Redknapp, not because of him. Cause and Correlation are very different things. I think you're simplying things enormously and blurring the two. |
how is it more complicated? If we go up he's done what's been asked of him if we don't he's failed. Fine to question how he's done it and I've not been a fan of how we've played this season but that's what the board will judge him on. If we win at Wembley Fernandes is not going to give a shit about losing to Blackburn or anyone else.

Dave I think TF might surprise you if we win at Wembley. I think he still might get rid of H even if he is backing him now. He is going to have to spend untold money anyway replacing H's old has beens and loanees. Whats another few mill to get rid of a manager who will make us an even bigger laughing stock in the Prem. than we were under Hughes..

Is anyone really surprised by the score tonight? on 09:34 - Apr 9 by Northernr | I just don't agree with the "it's impossible to win". I think QPR can win very easily, potentially by winning less - if the fans saw some long term strategy being put in place, some younger players being picked, less loans, I think they'd be a lot happier even if it meant we were midtable for a bit. The impression I get from fans is they're sick of what the club has become and are actually, often, jealous of clubs lower down than ourselves who have a plan and a strategy and know where they're going. |
Couldn't agree more. That's my sense of the Rangers fans at the moment, too. All fans ever want is pride. Winning is not the only way to pride. [Post edited 9 Apr 2014 12:27]

Well I hope I am one of the gentlemen ?? I cant reply to every post condemning Redknapp but for the record here is my position . I dont think Harry Redknapp walks on water . I dont like him or dislike him. I dont hold the club in such high esteem that I would not object to poo in the post . I would not be happy if Harry and Bond was our new strike partnership But... He has chosen his strategy to get us promoted, we all know what it is.. Some young players(Austin, Phillips, Simpson Carroll ) Some steady experience (Dunne Hill Zamora Johnson Henry) some of his own that he felt he could rely on ( BAE Jenas, Krancjar O Neill) and he has kickstarted some ( Barton Green Hoillett) . In a not very attractive way and with some bad luck through injury of the young and the influential players he has kept us in the top 3 until this week . There have been some frustrations I fully concede when Burnley have given us a chink and we havent taken it . , But isnt that the Rangers way? . If you want to guarantee a boring 0-0 draw make it kids for a quid , works every time . I think that he deserves the benefit of the doubt until we dont go up , then we can say that it was flawed . He has blown the auto positions so he is in the last chance saloon . But what have we to lose now by getting behind the whole lot of them until the end of the season . To take the analogy of the emperors new clothes .. hopefully when he gets to the palace we find he was wearing a fur lined body stocking after all ... Cheers Oh and the comparison with Hughes is flawed , only one has had to shovel up the other ones sh*t , before he could make a start. .... IMO [Post edited 9 Apr 2014 11:28]

Is anyone really surprised by the score tonight? on 11:23 - Apr 9 with 1091 views | stansleftfoot | I'm not as partisan as many, so I took the time to watch Chelsea last night and it taught me a number of things, those lessons came from different places, the match itself, John Terry, and Jose Mourinho. Firstly Mourinho had got the players in the right state of mind, they were playing a team unbeaten in a dozen games, in spite of a number of players carrying injuries Chelsea still gave their very best, Mourinho persevered with the limited Schurrle because his direct, fast and commited efforts would unsettle a very cultured PSG side. Mourinho's professionalism also enrolled the ball boys to get the ball back into play quickly to maintain pressure and contact with the ball, whilst he did that he also called upon the fans to support the side. John Terry told us that the side had practised scenario's all week for every virtuality, even introducing the long throw as an attacking threat when they could, not something PSG will have seen. When the time for a breakthrough, the second goal came, even as the Players rolled on the ground, Mourinho was telling Demba Ba and Fernando Torres what their role was for the last 4 minutes, Ba in the hole in front of Cahill and Terry, Torres to pick up and mark a PSG midfielder. So passion, application, playing the best players for the day, astute substitutions, crowd involvement, use of Ball Boys, tactical awareness, coaching scenario's and dead ball use, using players who are out of form but still can offer tactical bonus's, attention to detail, timely advice to players in how to protect the lead. Surprised by losing to Blackburn, not at all, Harry Redknapp is winging it, his luck is running out because his professionalism is weak, his management is weak, his coaching team are similarly ilk, Redknapp is our manager until after the play-offs, he still does need wins, I really do wonder whether he has enough luck on his side, his ability as a Manager clearly will not be enough to get three wins in the play-offs. My reasoning is that if we took Chelsea's win last night as a measure of how a group of players working with their management team could perform, what would anybody say about Harry Redknapp has done over 40 games? This side has steadily got worse from a pretty poor start/base against Sheffield Wednesday, we did get results no doubt, but as key players have become injured or lost conditioning/form Redknapp has made no constructive improvements, hard to see us getting a win, but I'll happily accept whatever HR can find. I can hear it now, " I've always said this was a hard division to get out of, and now I've proved it, triffic players, we did our best, but its been very difficult season " It would be Harry, your not a great Football Manager, as your career holds testament! Disappointed to see HR take advantage of TF, and hopeful to see if he can pull it out of the bag. The only justification for having had to watch QPR these last few years under MH and HR is to be promoted again, shame life doesn't work like that, I don't think we deserve to go up!

As much as I totally agree most of the team selection (especially last night) leaves us all scratching our heads think we have to stick with the manager at this stage of the season. We have to be careful when we talk about managers or players who would or do give everything to the cause but are not really very good. As much as I really admire Hill as a man and respect his total commitment to the club the fact is he is really not that good anymore. In the Premier division last year he was exposed time and time again as just a very honest hard working professional player who is punching above their weight. Mackie was exactly the same - honest, hardworking professional player who just got on with the task he was asked to do - but not very good. In writing this I do expect to get asked who would I rather have in my team - an over paid, lazy bar stewards or the guys I have mentioned (and to be fair there are others) who are not of great quality either. It is difficult but not impossible - look at Burnley for example. Ok they have had their fair share of good fortune as have Leicester but think they have earned it.

Exactly, they have earned it by a lot of hard work over three or four years under various managers, this was a definate possibility this year for QPR and HR doesn't seem to have made the best of the chance the owners have given him. I suspect if we don't go up, we shall spend three or four years until that combo of the right coach/manager and the right players tip up. HR's biggest mistake was made with the Strikers positions and no cover at Centre Back for Dunne in relation to the squad....he had an opportunity whilst the side was top of the table but still no answer to the blindingly obvious flaw to his plan....His answer was finally seen last night, Maiga, Keene and Young......You said it would be hard but we all presumed you and your staff might help! Slade? Seriously? Gary Johnson is a busted flush and has been for some time. I love Kenny, he loves QPR, but there's no point or reason for him to leave Wolves. I don't like Harry, but let's get real. He needs to stay to see this out. However strongly I feel about his poor performance and the terrible play this season, he should absolutely not be sacked until he has actually failed. You can't sack someone when you're 4th, I'm sorry, you just can't. absolutely agree we should have more QPR men at the club in the ranks, without doubt. Losing Birch was a real disappointment.

The soonest opportunity is after the season ends, Harry can go 'cos he's been in pain, so have we, and we're realy grateful for everything the legend has done for us. It will then become apparent that Harry Redknapp has removed any commentators on his performance at the Club, either by getting rid or just ignoring them, there's been a lot going on behind the scenes IMO. You don't get performance from Footballers like we see from this QPR side (whichever play) without something being wrong in the camp. Change will be better than a rest, a good honest hard working fit young coach with ambition on a three year contract....lets just get sensible for once! Lets get some players who are fit enough to train and coach, that's where Football Clubs normally start! I suspect Donaldson, Petrastasso, and the other youth contracts are part of a longer plan. HR and his team won't want to hang around at Harlington coaching a young QPR side....things are looking up regardless of what happens in the next 6 weeks....
Is anyone really surprised by the score tonight? on 12:19 - Apr 9 with 990 views | hoof_hearted | There isn't much wrong with any of our players. In fact the opposite - we have some great players that every other team in this league would kill for. It's that they don't play as a team. Injuries don't help but with a multi million pound coaching staff the tactics and motivation shouldn't be the factor that it seems to be.

I'd be surprised that lesson's havn't been learnt so we might be starting to see the beginnings of a sensible Football Club at Loftus Road.....Ha! Maybe! I guess the lesson would be not to chase the debt with more debt, I don't think Harry Redknapp can survive in an atmosphere sans wonga!

+1 When he came to the Rs, he had scored 0 (zero) goals in professional football. That is still the case. I have long suspected that Redknapp buys and selects people based on how they were playing several years ago, i.e. the last time Redknapp was really motivated and diligent. He's recruiting and picking teams from memory. It saves going to the trouble of assessing up and coming players. I am still can't believe we bought Austin and I fear that at some point, auditors will reveal his transfer was the result of an administrative error or the act of someone on a YTS scheme. RFA

Is anyone really surprised by the score tonight? on 09:49 - Apr 9 by paulparker | Not done a bad job !!!!!! Dave he has made a fecking right old pigs ear of it why cant people understand that this league this year was the worst in championship history , forget the bollox about us being relegated he has had the backing but isn't motivated to go and scout players only interested in bringing in has beens at the start of the season he states that AJ & BZ would tear this league a new one we all know they are only fit for dog meat, he buys CA and that's it , why not go for Wells, Deeney, or Vaughan as well to get out this league you need at least 5 strikers, everyone knows it bar redcrap he then fecks off our best player in Adel he then sells a good squad player in Mackie , imagine him & Austin upfront his treatment of faurlin before he got injured was a disgrace so instead of buying a couple of strikers we get oneil, Kranjker, bennyoun who pretty much have done nothing we don't have any formation, no style of play, we lack speed, guts, determination that's all down to Arry , even when we did win it was boring & dull then Austin gets crocked so we loan out our best 2 young attackers but loan in the worst Strikers since priskin & bent, we haven't even touched the sides of last season yet the bloke has done more harm than good, |
I agree with most of what you are saying but be honest, we all know Adel had zero interest in playing in the Championship again. RFA
