Saints Linked With Two Signings From France
Wednesday, 17th Aug 2016 13:01

Saints are today being linked with two signings from France, one a former player for Nice last season under Claude Puel.

The first rumour concerns Lille winger Sofiane Boufal, a name Saints were linked with earlier in the summer and who was also being chased by Spurs, now it seems that the North London Giants are turning their attentions elsewhere and that could leave the way open for Saints to nip in, although Boufal hasnt played since the end of last season after picking up an injury.

The second potential signing could have more substance to it in that it is Ivory Coast International Jean Michael Seri, who played for Puel last season at Nice after the now Saints boss signed him from Pacos de Ferreira in Portugal.

Although only 5ft 5 inches tall Seri proves a hit in the Nice side due to his ablity to create chances and pass the ball, not to mention a turn of pace, although he is small he is tough with it and reports from France suggest he would not struggle with the physical aspects of our game.

The same sources suggest that Seri could be available for around £5 million pounds and that if Saints don't snap him up now and he repeats his form from last season then his price will esculate.

Having seen Watford gain an unworthy point from us by fielding a team of giants are Saints really about to add yet another player slight in stature to our team of relatively small men. A five foot five inch player will hardly heighten our expectations. Next will hear that Fraser Forster is to be replaced by Warwick Davis!

It's all in FF's new contract HTO, every outfield player must be 12" lower than F's fist height so that he doesn't thump them accidentally when punching the ball in goal mouth scrambles and get a lawsuit.

Do we really want a team of South Coast MIDGETS? This could be a real problem, especially as the 5'5" Seri plays in Wanyama's central defensive midfield position and we've already seen how the 5'7" Cedric gets brushed aside by big players.

If Boufal's injury is not all that troubling, physios to decide, we should sign him before anyone else wakes up to his prospects and do something to prove that we are not generally only re-active to raids on our squad, but proactive to the chance of signing up really talented players!

in our position, playing extra games via the Europa League, we should be wary of signing African players..the AOC will make them unavailable for selection for over a month
