Also, yes agree on the rest - quite abrasive sometimes, but a reliably factual, non-sensationalist source of QPR-related info
Edit: This thread has just reminded me of when The Twitter was first becoming all the rage, I posted on here that I only followed two accounts - Dave Mc for QPR stuff, and Doug Stanhope for jokes. Dave Mc replied to my post with something like "what happens if I start being funny?"
Agree, it's a fair question. We've said for years we want to see an identity and a consistent approach to how we play. Martì has a particular style he wants to develop, which is progressive and nuanced. We've made a lot of signings but on a small budget, so it's a big challenge to transform this squad. It will take time and if we get there at all it will be a tremendous achievement. And the fact it will inevitably take time is potentially to our advantage in that it might mean we hold onto cifiuentes for a while longer!
The question of whether this current team can do the things Martì wants it to is imo an open question for now. Chair coming back in might improve our ability to move through the thirds more quickly. I still think Madsen is an important factor, I've always assumed his role was as an 8, driving us up the pitch. He's not shown that yet really, but over the course of the season who knows.
Not exactly a hidden gem, but - I partook in some of that MDMA at a mate's wedding a few years ago just before I moved overseas, where this was played. Obviously a bit of a wedding standard, but in the moment - the nostalgia of moving away from friends, the surplus of serotonin in my synapses - it hit me differently. Then this summer it was played at another wedding, and my 7 year old daughter really loved it. So it's now graduated from 'standard piece of cheese for weddings' to 'standard piece of family sing-along on the way to school'.
Am I right that he's the only player to have played every minute of every game so far this season ?
Thought at the time that the talk of moving him on was rash. A full season of 6/10 performances week in week out is more valuable than half a season of 7/10 performances imo
Had the misfortune of watching our games on opposition streams a good few times and always struck by how inferior the commentary usually is. The Luton stream commentary was comically bad the other week, just so biased and lacking in any objectivity whatsoever
Once per game a klaxon will sound indicating that all 10 outfield players on the team not in possession of the ball must immediately run in a straight line directly towards the ball. If that team then wins possession of the ball, the phase is reversed and all outfield players on the other team must run directly towards the ball. This continues until the klaxon sounds again, at which time players on the both teams are permitted to return to formation.
Funnily enough Blackburn away was the first game I took my daughter to, first game of the season a couple of years back, we lost 1 or 2 nil I think, she was 4 nearly 5.
Live Clive said, it's a big away end, plenty of room if you want to find a bit of space.
I was going to take her for food before tbe game in the pub down the road that everyone goes to, but that was absolutely rammed and pretty rowdy --Id remembered it being quieter the time I'd been before.
