Does anyone actually think he’ll play again ?

This has to be our worst transfer signing ever , considering we had just got relegated at the time and hardly had a pit to piss in yet somehow the club thought spunking £10 million on him was a wise move .

No wonder our transfer business over the last few seasons has been poor.

Exactly this , why the fvck he thought he’d get away with it in the premier league when he knew he wouldn’t in the championship is beyond me.

BMUFF TICKETS
at 20:12 29 Aug 2024

I totally agree , I know some one that buys a ticket for every away game and doesn’t even bother to sell them if they can’t go.

Soon our away tickets will also be digital so that will fvck up some fans who do this.

Ramsdale on his way!
at 18:44 29 Aug 2024

Wonder what the delay / hold up is ?

Last night and this morning it was widely reported that the fee was agreed and he was having his medical today.

Assume if the fee was agreed we’d also agree the deal with Aaron himself .

Hoping I’m wrong but I’ve got a bit of nerves around this now.

Cardiff Game Matchday Thread
at 18:49 28 Aug 2024

However much we moan and were disappointed with our 2 result so far the bottom line is last season those 2 performances were probably good enough to get a least 4 points .

The teams problem ( and Martin’s) is we no longer get that little bit of time on the ball and one slight lack of concentration and the opposition will pounce on it .

What tactics may have worked last season may not this.

We will play players that have not played much but we still need ( and should) win .

Same old, same old.

As someone else pointed out both defeats this season are down to Martin and the way he wants to play.

Asking McCarthy to play out the back is only going to end one way, as we saw against 10 men Newcastle .

Playing with your strikers out wide with no central striker will only end one way as peroved again on Saturday.

If we lose to Brentford Saturday ( and there a good chance we will) then we could be 0 points from 4 games seeing we have Man Utd home the game after. That’s going to put Martin and the team under great pressure against Ipswich in our 5th game.

Nothing out of the ordinary he used to score for us occasionally.

He’s a good championship standard striker but a poor premier league striker .

Ipswich will do well this season, they’ve on paper recruited well .

They remind me a little bit of when we went up last time.

Who Has Had To Move Their Seat From Last Season
at 05:32 21 Aug 2024

I think the Northam will be shit for a few reasons.

I know people who moved to the Northam, not because they wanted to stand and sing but because it was cheap. I fear they’ll be several behind will be sitting in the safe standing area.

I’m not sure we have 7000 fans who want to sing and stand all game.

We don’t really have a lot of songs and we sing the same song for various players .

Time will tell and I like the idea but for those reasons alone it won’t be this wall of noise some think.

As for moving seats sever clubs have move home fans to change where away fans sit. Aston Villa, Chelsea, Derby , Middlesbrough Watford to name a few.

We even moved the away fans to the east stand at the Dell to create an end and funnily enough that worked probably because it was smaller .

The only person to benefit from us signing Lallana is Adam Lallana. It must be up there with the signing of Ross Stewart as a crazy singing ( both at the time and now)

Bella-Kotchap move now ‘100% Off’

This is very bad news, we might have to settle on trying to find a club that are willing to take him on loan.

I cannot stress enough- We do not need players like him in our team / squad

Any positives?
at 12:19 18 Aug 2024

From my view high up in the away section , we played ok and kept Newcastle at bay and the fears of letting in an early goal so evaporated.

We came into the game as the half went on even ,created a couple of chances but without really seriously threatening, however you always knew we’d let a goal in at some point .

When they went down to 10 men you got the feeling we had to make use of the extra man and for large parts of the 1st half we did, however Newcastle had a rare attack and McCarthy did what we all knew he would do if we asked him to play out from the back, and Newcastle scored just before half time .

I got the feeling Newcastle knew if they kept it to 2 banks of 4 after the break we didn’t have the players to break them down. In the end we were too predictable and easy to defend against .

2 things I blamed Martin for 1) Expecting McCarthy to play out the back and 2) his subs at half time . Should have taken Stephen’s off and kept Sugawara on .

Thought both wing backs and cracking games so did Downs , Aribo and Smallbone.

Still we competed and we won’t go down because we lost to the likes of Newcastle away. We might if we lose to the likes of Forest at home.

Id never thought I’d say this but if Bazunu was in goal we would have come away with a 0-0 draw as he wound not have fvcked up and there were no other shots on target.

Striker signing - Cameron Archer

Also off to Newcastle tomorrow, you just know what’s going to happen - the talk will be keep it tight for the 1st 20 mins or so and take the sting out of the game only to let one in after less then 5 mins and as you say a routine 3-0 win for Newcastle.

To be fair Bournemouth have not got a large fan base so it’s not surprising really, I think for the size of the club their away support isn’t bad.

Interesting that he’s not got another club yet, either he’s demanding too much or he’s not as good as many thought he was.

Wonder if he’ll end up back in Scotland .

Ipswich have done some good business since they got promoted and I can see them being the surprise team this season and finish midtable, similar to when Brentford came up.

It shows once again how badly we have been run that Bournemouth can spend £31,000,000 on a player - smashing our transfer record again .

Where Do You Think We Will Finish This Season
at 17:27 14 Aug 2024

Let’s be honest if we were fans of any other club we’d be saying that Southampton will be one of the three that will get relegated.

It’s only because we are fans of Saints that sometimes our heart rules and some say will finish 17th or higher.

We are rightly one of the favourites to go straight back down and it’s very hard to think of 3 clubs we will finish above.

Having said all that I can see Forest, Brentford, Brighton, Wolves and Leicester all struggling with us. A lot say Ipswich but I’ve a feeling they’ll surprise a few.
