According to CUSA there are 28 U’s fans on the coach making its way to Barrow (and no doubt several others making the epic journey from Essex under their own steam), just to spend a couple of hours in a drab windswept stadium, in poor weather, just to watch their heroes.
Every one of them should have an honorary place in the Col U Hall of Fame.

The classic expression “concentrate on the league” is now very much to the fore after late capitulation at Swindon last weekend.
Frankly today is the ultimate reset for our season. Barrow under Stephen Clemence are 9th with 21 points from 14 games whilst we ae languishing in 21st place with 12 points from 13 games.
Dumped out of the cup at the 1st Round stage (again) there is a frustratingly similar set of results to that of the last 5 seasons.
Now I refuse to join the glass half empty brigade despite our grim start to the season and instead will suggest that we can still turn things around, however this must start today at the SO Legal Stadium in Barrow. The Bluebirds are once again punching above their weight and sit handily placed to join the top seven in League Two.
Today is when we secure a vital away win and the players stand up to be counted. Also, DC will need to play his best team available not rely on favourites and he must stand firm by his decisions and not capitulate to play players who are either out of form or simply not good enough.
Lyle Taylor should be playing today before heading to join with his Monserrat team mates for the Internationals. Similarly, McDonnell and Donnelly will also be away on similar duty.

I do begin to wonder, as I'm sure do others, if by misfortune or whatever we have arrived at a squad of first team players for whom it doesn't really matter much. Get paid, go home, other stuff....but NOT Colchester United.
I hope I am wrong but I see little to disabuse me of those thoughts. If this is so it wouldn't matter who or what the management was. It couldn't be done.

I think most U's fans would say Payne was the best signing.
