Saw the latest Bond outing last night on opening day.
It's a cracker, great locations, complicated storyline, great one liners, and Craig again delivers a great performance.
Long film though, nearly 2 and half hours.
Go watch it, be interested in others opinions.

Casino Royale wasn't just the best Bond film I've seen, it was one the best action movies i've ever seen. Skyfall was awful and I think there was another one inbetween those two... I'm sure I watched one after Casino...

Saw it last night. It's slightly slower than some of the Bonds, but I didn't mind that. I think the summary by WanderR is pretty much spot on. The locations especially were stunning, it's a beautifully shot film. Really enjoyed the scenes with Waltz, that guy is incredible.

Always happy to see a new Bond every 3 or 4 years. Thoroughly enjoyed the last one 'Skyfall' even if it did go a bit 'Home Alone' at the end !

I'm looking forward to it. I've really enjoyed all three Daniel Craig Bond films.
Not a fan of the Moore ones with all that winking and gurning. Brosnan a more modern version of the same thing. I don't get the Connery thing at all TBH and as a Scot I just can't get past how weird his accent is. To English folks he apparently sounds Scottish but to me he just sounds very very odd. And he's as wooden as they get. No opinion on Lazenby as he was before my time.
To me, anyway, Mendes and Craig have taken the franchise out of the music hall and into serious (action) cinema |  |

Went with three early teens last night (two sons and their mate).They liked it but thought not as good as earleir ones they have seen.
I thought it was pretty poor by numbers Bond stuff with lots of nods to earlier films and an ageing Bond. They seemed to have slightly given up on the Bourne reality stuff - like having him driving a magic car again but Craig cant really pull off the Roger Moore whimsical stuff. Even the long opening shot got a bit silly with Bond unscathed from a collapsing building (which happens twice in the film). In retrospect Casino Royale was very good going back to the source material. I thought however to myself its really a fillm for 13 year olds and we should perhaps not be looking for Shakespeare out of it. |  | | |

Everything appeared to be done on the cheap. Mostly filmed on studio sets, really dreadful CGI, the set pieces of action were rubbish, the acting seemed as if no one could be bothered. Just my own feeling on it though, for anyone that enjoyed it, good for them! | | | |

Seems a tad harsh, especially with the acting - I would say that Javier Bardem was the best bad guy of modern films, if not one of the best ever! His introductory scene walking from the lift is brilliantly executed and perfectly timed. | |

You can't beat Mads Mikelssen (Hannibal) smashing feck out of Bond's balls with a rope!
Javier's CGI face droop made me cringe and he was just a laughable character after that for me. The cartoon helicopters at the end were worse still. Damn them and their Sinclair ZX Spectrum 8 bit CGI! Cheapskates. | | | |
