We had that bit of good fortune today that has been missing up to now. A battling performance but two very fortunate goals

Elyounoussi not picked, we play a bit better, not a huge surprise. Surprising result, maybe NJ is a lucky manager after all.

Diabolical first half, JWP scored a lucky first goal. We seemed to click into gear in the second half and Arma pounced and forced a shaky keeper into an error which he converted. Looked good in the second half after players looked again like they had only just met.

I've not warmed to Jones but keep this second half performance up and I may start to develop a grudging respect.

Saints fans once again could be heard loud and clear. Not good for Jones or Ward but great to hear in the second half. JWP showing captain's attitude in addressing the crowd after he scored. Class.

It was good to see a battling second half performance. Our display in the first 30 minutes was dire. With a few exceptions, there was just a distinct lack of effort. Mainland Nile’s was particularly abysmal. Still glad to see us get some lucky breaks and good to see those players that cared such as JWP,Lyanco, Aribo and Armstrong (although he still looks like a Championship player).

The scoreline whilst very welcome came from two very fortuitous goals, although Armstrong must be given credit for his goal.
Other than these attempts and a glancing header from Armstrong (who put in a really good shift) , we did not look like scoring.

The first half was a shocker, and Jones deserved the negative feedback. He was the one that set the team up and has obviously told the team to play these awful aimless long diagonal balls. It suddenly stopped in 2nd half after the chants ?

I am fully supportive of giving new managers a chance, especially when they come in, in the middle of poor results. However, he had 1 month to prepare this team and the style of play we have witnessed so far is not going to get Saints out of this predicament.

Jones has also not endeared himself to fans, with the constant moaning and arrogance, blaming everyone else apart from himself or his back up team.

After Fulham, Brighton and Forest we should have had at least 6 points, he has to be accountable and stop his whinging.
We were even lucky against Lincoln.

The 2nd half was more encouraging, and the team battled well, but this was a very fortunate result and had their shot that hit the bar in 1st half gone in, to make it 2-0, it could have been a very different story.
