I regret working past my retirement age, I just carried on working because I could I worked a further three Years until just after my 68th birthday. The retirement was just bliss for many reasons and I knew I'd made a mistake working on. My Company were brilliant with me (I'd been there nigh on 40 Years) after a couple of years I did sit down with my Director one day when I told him I'd had enough, he/they talked me into going part time on the same benefits (car--life Insurance--33 days annual leave--full sick pay--etcetera--etcetera working three days per week. Then one Sunday night I said to the Missus tomorrow Is gonna be a stinker of a day at work, she just replied then hand your notice In which I did. Yes money Is vital when you retire of course It Is but them moments In the evening when you think to yourself, I don't have to do nothing tomorrow, nothing at all, get up when I want, no more arguing with two faced lying clients, blah--blah--blah. Retirement Is great, I swear by It, get out while you can/If you can. |

Put It this way, you get beat pretty much week after week and It takes It's toll, just another reason why I don't like or want to be In the Prem. A 5-0 home loss Is hard to take on a cold January day. |

I struggle to listen to the radio nowadays, just an opinion but the endless Inane waffle that you have to listen to between records Is hard work. Johnny Walker was different though, he had the skill set to be interesting when talking between records. He was like whispering Bob Harris but louder. RIP |

You'll have every football pundit that ever lived coming on waffling about how It wasn't his fault, he had a huge injury list and was living on a Plymouth council estate by himself, an ugly wife, blah--bloody blah. |
| Forum Reply | Promotion to the Premier League is tough. But is survival effectively impossible? at 22:26 30 Dec 2024
I loved the promotion to the Premiership and hated It In equal measures. I find the wealth attached to the Premiership revolting, but It's what It Is, I cant really put my finger on It, but It's not for me. I sometimes hear on the radio that promotion to the Prem means a financial gain of over £100 million to the promoted club, really, I mean really? Many years ago one Saturday afternoon I walked through the lower loft turnstiles and dropped what loose change I had in the begging bowl bucket, that was the week that our training ground was gonna have the electricity cut off as we hadn't paid the goddam electric bill, that's more like It, that's my club right there, none of this sanitized talk sport bull shit football nonsense. There are players In the Premiership being paid £150, 000 per f ucking week for Christ sake!!! Yes I want success for club but at what price? It all seems so wrong to me, I'm perfectly happy in this league, I'd wanna die If we got relegated, I'd be well pleased for us to get promoted too but I remember only to well the last time we were there and the long journey home from WHL and those stupid f ucking Spurs fans on the train and Harry bastard Redcrap waving to the Spurs fans whilst our painfully and obviously under trained players got beat the f uck up for 95 minutes. Shove that for an expensive lark. Might have got on the wrong thread but whatever. |

We only need Eight more wins and a tiny little draw to stay In this league for another season of splendid splendidness. With that In mind and also a slight smattering of footballing consistency, I can only see us losing 3-0. I hate Ed Balls for what It's worth. |
