Wasn't at the game today so didn't want to make any specific comments about today's game, however I just know that some folk on here can be a little touchy about certain opinions that aren't particularly mutual so to speak. I felt I may have been the only one 'backing' Kitchen so to speak from what I've seen postwise across the board. By some accounts he seemed to at least improve today though? Or were boro just THAT bad / the trialist replacement wasn't up to much and so that is the last thought of most people of our left hand side? I do worry about this Bunney injury though and I feel if it crops up again during the season after this period of recovery we need to find a proper long term replacement that fits his mould. That being said I'm aware that finding a quality player that can play LB/LWB to the standard Hill wants is almost impossible to find without a big check book that we will never open. But fair play, Hill never ceases to disappoint with his recruitment and I urge him to put a bit cross next to my theory! |

Maybe it's just me but are we potentially comparing anyone that plays LB/LWB to the standards of Bunney too much from last season? Kitchen seems to have got quite a lot of stick for performances so far from things I've seen on other threads too, albeit I'm aware that those performances havent been plentiful to date. Potentially we could just accept the fact that Bunney was, from nowhere granted, a different class when he hit form last season, but should we not also consider that, that particular role in any team/situation is played differently by almost all players in any league and furthermore, it may take time for anyone coming in to hit form and get the style and form that Hilly wants and demands? ... Ironically; like Bunney when he first took on that position ... could be way off the mark here and on my own in this thinking but just a thought. Especially when it looks like this Bunney injury could be something that rears its head much more often than what we may have first anticipated. This isn't a dig at the post I'm replying to by the way to be clear. Great result either way though with an almost fullish strength boro side! |

Just looking at the day 3 pre season pics am I right in seeing that he's taken Lund's number 8? |

Can't help but think that RNL has been a waste of wages, despite the fact he's probably not on big money. To say hill released him initially last summer I did think he'd have been given more game time out of principle more than anything, although I'm glad he hasn't. Always been a yard off the pace for me, injured too frequently and never applied himself fully to our ethos IMO. Could've brought in a young, hungry rough diamond on the same wages and would probably have got more game time out of them. |

Now now was just a simple question. To say you 'gave' us those points you're a bit angry ain't ya 🤔😊 |

Anyone else think it was a bit odd that the bury players had the number 15 Thompson shirts on during the warm up but we weren't given any? Also, was a bit ironic that the screens showed his picture saying 'once a shaker always a shaker' yet the one picture they decided on was of him in a dale shirt?! Classic buckets to be fair or maybe I've looked too much into it. |

What are the chances of the game being off tomorrow do we think bearing in mind the Normal state of the parade? |
| Forum Reply | New Signing at 16:17 14 Aug 2014
We would have to get in the opposition's box first |

Done played in that position anyway against Peterborough, signing Dawson, albeit he's a class act on his day, doesn't really give Done any more license to play that role as Hilly obviously had that in mind pre signing Dawson. The Kennedy one has no bearing on Done though, I can't see it as anymore than friend signing a friend as he hasn't had any offers since leaving Barnsley. We have enough cover at the back without needing Kennedy at present and he won't be on pittance let's not disregard that. |

But isn't it totally evident that we are missing some sort of out and out striker rather than ex Barnsley-friend signings in positions that aren't necessary to fill? |

Anyone travelling up for the game tonight with a free car space by any chance? |

Played with him a at Chadderton in North West Counties about 4 years back. Very comfortable on the ball for a defender but can easily played holding midfield too. Strong on & off the ball. Be interesting to see if Hilly thinks he can make the step up to pro standard. |

It's not the best at the moment, granted, but were not far from where we need to be and were playing badly. It's the first season with the team together properly. If we sack jc, who do we get in? We're then back to finding a new manager, unsettling the team in the meantime and them having to start taking on board new ideas and approaches when a new man is appointed. I am too frustrated but let's stick with it until January and see what happens. Then we'll see what he's made of in the second half of the season. |

Well I wouldn't mind one boring 4-0 win this season to be fair :-) |
| Forum Thread | Missed chances at 20:29 15 Sep 2012
I thought we controlled large parts of the game today and although not a perfect performance by any stretch of the imagination, we looked dominant albeit against a very poor side. BUT ... if we don't take our chances when in the ascendancy against better opposition we will get punished this season. We nearly threw it away today and it would have spoiled that long overdue away win we desperately needed and just about about got! Thoughts? |

Apologies got the postcodes wrong ! Still, bucks has been colder than London way so still hoping it's On. Will they have to let the club know before the coach goes at 8? |

Live in Wycombe, hoping the game is on tomorrow temperatures supposed to go down to minus 2 maximum in charlton Overnight. Ground frozen ish here atm about 20 miles away. Hopefully they cover the shadowed parts over n the sun helps the rest of the pitch out?? Do we want in or would it suit us to be postponed??? Surely the club must have an agreement with cafc to let us know before the supportes coach sets off? Up the dale!! |
