my first 2 friendlies against qpr were both scottish teams, plenty of action, plenty of goals. 1968/69....qpr 6-3 arbroath
1969/70.....qpr 3-3 glasgow rangers, marsh got sent off.
i went to a pre season friendly round about this era, a home game against leicester, got to the ground only to be told it was postponed. don't think it ever got under way later either. think i even bought a programme for this as well, i'll have to dig it out.
back in the day, footballers seemed to make golf their second sport....relaxed.
was chatting to an ex pompey player today, he said bobby campbell was a superb golfer, played from scratch. wander how many ex qpr related players/managers/coaches were up there with the pros.
selfish reasons.....i live local, so yes. sentimental reasons...yes moving to a soulless ground in the middle of nowhere....no
yet here's the contradictory bit.....i'd love a 30,000 stadium, with a lovely bit of leg room, and a concourse with decent facilities/toilets/food drink....and safe standing.
what would be the furthest from loftus road you would accept....regardless of where you live. again for selfish reasons i'd say stay.....
