Watch me rise up and leave, all the ashes you made out of me – Report
at 12:45:53

A great report Clive, much appreciated. One of those magical nights.

I did laugh at Willy Gnonto rolling around on the floor. In a pink kit. Billy Bremner will be spinning.

See you in August.

And then I looked up at the sun and I could see - Report

Brilliant stuff Clive, one of your best.

Lots of credit to the players for the bodies on the line stuff that kept us in it at times (yes you have got to f*****g die to get 3 points).

Thanks for the mention and being back at LR surrounded by everyone was a torturous pleasure! Apologies to your pal who sat next to me (name escapes me, but he has a bit of the look of Neil Harris about him), but the new 2022/23 relaxed me lasted 15 minutes and after that he copped my inane ramblings.

I'm not sure that my boys would have enjoyed that second half and they were more nervous than me by all accounts as they sat on the Cricket Club boundary. In those sorts of circumstances I'd much rather be at the match watching the drama unfold, than staring at my phone hoping it doesn't 'ping' and if it does, looking at it with one eye shut.

Another prescription of Valium on order - we wouldn't have it any other way would we?

Standing on the platform, watching you go — Report

Another brilliant piece Clive and as has been said on many occasions, I don't know how you do this week in and out, putting yourself through the emotional wringer. From my perspective, having followed this basket-case of a club for the best part of 50 years, I have that horrible feeling of deja vu that this will go very wrong and we could be next season's Barnsley. Big decisions to be made now as we press again, the reset button. At least the season is almost over and my blood pressure can stabalise during the next few months. Have a good summer and thanks again.

City's smash and grab sucker punch stuns QPR - Report
at 13:43:36

Brilliant stuff as always Clive and a real gut-wrencher if ever there was one. It seems that Bristol City do this to us quite often. I recall similar about ten years ago (Steven Caulker?) scoring a 94th minute winner at their end. It's taken me two days to come to terms with this, even at my age! I struggled sleeping on Saturday night - mad isn't it?

In the cold light of day, it is simply the case in my view, as Warburton said, that we have to be more ruthless and if Dykes scores one of his golden opportunities, then it's a different game that we aren't chasing. My concern is that whilst it's easy to say 'be more ruthless' are we capable of being so? Answers on a postcard. Oh and fingers crossed that Johansen is ok as he seemed to be struggling towards the ned of the game.

So sad to hear of the passing of Allan Payne. My sincerest condolences to his family at this very sad time. I hope Rangers can pull out a performance and a win in his memory. RIP Allan.

Lather, rinse, repeat - Report
at 17:18:52

Great report Clive, we all feel your pain frustration and anger in equal measure. It's becoming so predictable, playing really well for 45 mins, seeing if we can achieve a big enough cushion to protect us for when the inevitable wobbles and panic set in. As good as Bright is, why does he so often shoot at the narrowest angle of the near post, when kids from the age of 7 upwards are always taught to hit it across the keeper. Baffling (Rotherham goal excepted).

So a left back, big horrible centre half and big horrible holding midfielder (preferably under 50) are required to get us back on track. Good luck with that.

I'm back to the default position of pondering 'are there 3 worse teams than us?'.

Do you want the options again? Always the same... Report

A very aptly written piece Clive, much of which I think you could have cut and pasted from previous matches at Griffin Park. My two-penneth if I may;

Ysp Brentford are a much better side than us, a much better run club and I think are heading to the Prem. They remind me of Bournemouth when they went up.

As for us, we don't have a leader on the pitch and are often naive and easily bullied. We don't have a Jansson or a Watkins who ref the match when the Ref himself is a weak one like he was yesterday. I thought Manning was fouled for their first goal, but yes they should have had a pen. I think the Wells pen shout was outside the box, but a clear foul nonetheless.

I think you make a really good point that it clearly means a lot more to the Brentford players than it does to Rangers. I know many fans feel the same, me included. I class Fulham as our 'West London' rivals, not Brentford. If we do happen to play the Bees again next season then I for one would like this attitude to change or it will be Groundhog Day (part 6).

We all know our shortcomings and with a magic wand we'd sign a left and right back, a keeper, a centre half and a younger and nastier Geoff Cameron type. Oh and throw in a striker too, you know one that we actually own. But as you say Warburton knows that, and we are trying to get things on an even keel and certainly off the pitch the club is going in the right direction. Fingers crossed matters on the pitch take a turn for the better too.

The annual meek surrender at Griffin Park - Report
at 19:22:33

An excellent and very funny report as always Clive (I'm resigned to ,you've got to laugh or you'd cry' mode) - as you rightly say against a side who are poor at defending set pieces it defies logic that we didn't start with Smith or Hemed.

As for BT Openreach I think you've been a tad soft on them.

Team with plan v team with vague idea — Report
at 10:38:28

Excellent nail-on-head report as usual Clive.

I believe our players are definitely good enough, but aren't being deployed in the right positions and there's too much chopping and changing. Shodipo was excellent when he came on at Sheffield and the Finnish left back did as well as could have been expected, so the Robinson selection was baffling. Washington, I believe, will score goals when played in the right position, but can't be faulted for effort at the moment.

We seem to have little in the way of a game plan - no Plan A so no wonder there appears to be no Plan B. The other area that is blatantly lacking is our leader on the pitch - we just don't seem to have one.

I've rapidly lost patience with JFH and feel that unless things change and change soon (3-4 games) then we must look at a change before we find ourselves in a relegation battle. As always it would be a gamble, but so would keeping him.

Hull profit from Green’s latest catastrophic calamity — report
at 12:55:31

As usual an excellent report Clive and one that must have been hard to write after the farcical end to the match.

I've been trying to clutch at straws and have come to the conclusion that this could actually be a blessing in disguise if we now recognise that we need to shop out certain players and perhaps give others a chance, whilst recognising that we are no where near good enough to get promoted, but certainly aren't too good to get relegated.

It will get much worse before if gets better, we are a club on the decline.

Never a dull moment at the basket-case that is QPR.

Refereeing and defensive calamities see QPR lose again - report
at 08:45:35

Listening to Talkshite (yes I know...) it was, as expected, the Harry Kane wnkfest - and of course little old QPR are going down...we know that, it just feels like it always has done.

Little talk of the appalling Mr Pawson, but Chris Ramsey isn't Jose so wont be given two hours of air time on Sky to bleat about how hard done by we were (and we really were) so the Premiership circus moves on to the next round of games and the inevitable next refereeing calamity. Big team decisions are seriously pssing me off - perhaps we might be seen as the 'big team' in the Championship next season and get the decisions in our favour? Don't hold your breath.

Oh yes and Rio Fedinand is really shite - back to his early season form.

Redknapp hangs on despite United defeat - report
at 21:42:36

Top stuff as always Clive and as discussed at HT Rooney should have been given the whistle and been done with it.

However you can't blame Rooney for doing that as clearly Swarbrick doesn't possess and pair and was obviously in awe of the England captain. The question is, who is our 'Referee? Its about time we played that game too.

As for Redknapp the decision not to put on Zarate and instead put on Kranjcar was just about the last straw for me. Clueless.

Aguero rescues City from jaws of Austin-inspired QPR — report
at 15:11:48

Top stuff as always Clive.

The biggest gripes for me with Mike Dean were Dunne's booking (I've not seen it since but it looked no worse than any of the City fouls) and his inconsistency in awarding a free kick against Austin when the ball hit his chest/shoulder (which lead to their 2nd goal) and his failure to award the same when Aguero clearly used his arm to control the ball for the first goal.

Big club decisions if ever there were...

A horribly familiar sinking feeling — report
at 14:09:41

An excellent report as always Clive, which sums it up for me - the lack of tackles, no marking at corners, men on posts (lack of), Fer and Dunne for Faurlin and Nedum, missed sitters...the list goes on.

The Redknapp waving thing was the icing on the piss-taking cake for me and summed up one hell of a miserable Sunday.

A way to win - report
at 12:39:47

A fantastic read as always Clive, but obviously extra special.

Yes we all feel for Derby, but having seen the photo above of their players begging Mason to send O'Neill off with Keogh coming into the picture to do likewise, I've suddenly lost much of that sympathy. Oh and the odious Chris Martin (Grant Holtalike), did he actually play??

What can I add - pandemonium, mayhem, euphoria, tears, all in a split second - what else can give you feelings and emotions like this? A day I'll never forget and cannot stop thinking about. Wonderful.

Does Mackie sale tally with QPR’s ‘right sort’ rhetoric?
at 17:38:42

A great piece Clive and the 'truck stop with cashpoint' had me chuckling!

I'm bewildered by this as we are now a Championship club and at this level I think Jamie Mackie will be a handful, as he was for us in 10/11. In fact I'm bloody angry about it.

I also recall a game when he filled in at right back, not sure who against but he had a really good game and as always gave 100%.

I can see him having a really good season at Forest and I wish him all the best. However I don't really want to see him scoring against us at LR with Silly Billy running up the touchline in celebration...like last time when they celebrated like they'd won the league.

Oh well, it looks like we are down to 2 injury prone strikers now just 4 days from our first gmae of the season, assuming Remy is off on loan to the Geordies.

Only at Rangers...
