Whilst I detested the football played under Rylan, like it or not we knew the style, and what he wanted. Under Juric just what ‘style’ or format are we trying to play? Seriously I am baffled.
Having attended all the relegation battles of the nineties I can take the continual losing (and having poor players) PROVIDED the players put a shift in and get some challenges in. There is absolutely no commitment from this bunch of fairies. They are not even fit for Christ’s sake.
Never in my lifetime did I expect to see us get battered at home by the likes of Brighton or Bournemouth. That is meant in no way to disrespect those clubs and I really do hope they can upset the establishment, but this just shows how far we have fallen.
Sport Republic are getting away with it week in, week out with no repurcussions. Absolute tinpot owners. [Post edited 23 Feb 9:12]

Agree totally re: manufactured boozers. Try to avoid Grumpy Monkey and the like where possible. The only boozer around Guildhall Sq. I do pop into occasionally is Belgium and Blues. Hadn’t been there for a while but just noticed last week that the Angel has closed again.
If you’re gonna drink in places like Grumpy Monkey almost just as well drink in the Gulags [Post edited 22 Feb 6:59]

Both cracking boozers (never been in The Guide Dog though).
Have had a few in the Book Shop mind(same neck of the woods) which has some decent ales on.

Whilst a resident of the Northam and have been since the ground was opened, I much preferred it when the away fans were alongside. Since the Red Wall was introduced it is like the whole stand has been infiltrated by brainless kids. I mean, case in example, our lot singing about there being only one South Cosst Derby. Chaps, we know Pompey are the rivals, so why the need to air such a song whilst we are playing Bournemouth!?!? Surely you are stoking something not there.
I think with time things will sort themselves out on the atmosphere side as equilibrium takes place with fans of the old Itchen corner / Northam striving to move ends. Once there are a few taking up residence next to the away fans it should help.
Re: the silence from the hierachy, we have often said (and has been well documented on articles here to be fair) that we don’t want constant feeds of news or interviews from the board as they need to take valuable time running the place, however the silence really is deafening. I mean, by all accounts Dragan was the one beating down the door to tell Martin he was sacked yet it’s here say. For me it’s simple, Dragan is the major shareholder so needs to stand up and be counted.
Whilst we can argue or disagree on the merits or not of Cortese / Liebherr, at least we had a strategy. We were told the squad / first team would be built around getting homegrown, English players who came through the ranks playing as the core of the team (and by Christ we were getting there). If Sport Republic are here using the place as a cash cow then just tell us that, but don’t assume we are all mugs and will put up with it.
What is their strategy for getting us back up (if they even desire that) next year?
I love Saints but don’t assume I will be led like a sheep and take the support as guaranteed. [Post edited 19 Feb 9:49]

To be fair Pat, one wonders what he knew about the PL before coming in. For me if he should go, we need a proper tried and tested Championship ilk manager. We are in a mess and really do need / will need, to go back to basics starting with a spine of a team. |

Added to this, why on earth were the plebs singing about ‘One South Coast Derby’ on Saturday. FFS, no need to even bang on about it for christs sake.
Was quite amusing, was catching a leak in a boozer post game Saturday when a guy come in wearing a head band. Commented on how he was gonna struggle to get a train; most of us completely ignored him. Then said it again to which someone replied you can always walk. Then went on about travelling to Europe for games next season. No one even bothered biting which meant his dribbling on about Bournemouth really fell on deaf ears. Poor sod was trying to get a rise. |
