I would prefer us to close down further up the field
We allow teams to build up confidence by letting them have possession and let them get a foot hold in the game.
We are making a number of mediocre teams look good on the ball recently |

To be honest I was expecting Gorre to progress a little quicker and at least been on the bench considering he form or our current wingers.

When you say move to the next level what do you mean?
We have been finishing near half way or above for most seasons so are you saying challenging for Europe??
We are not equipped for that unless we have Man City the investments. These guys do not have that sort of money and Financial Fair pLay will not allow it now |

£30m investment for what?
Whatever way you look it these days a football club like ours does not make enough money for these type of people to make significant amounts

Williams aside there is no leader in the squad !!!
Despite being fans favourites over the years I honestly think the transition period has started.
Everyone has an expiry date and it is unfortunate that Angel, Dyer, Routledge and Britton seem to be reaching this. Sometimes when you are in the same job for too long you get complacent, sometimes your time is up.
I think these 4 who have been favourites of mine are in decline.
Naughty will come in for Angel which is fine, but we still have not found a replacement for Britton. Carrol is not the answer for me although he is neat and tidy. We need someone who is a leader and got some experience in the DM role. Unfortunately they cost money !!!!
As for the wide men, Barrow has potential but is nowhere near starting 11 consistently and then Emnes is just a squad player so we need to spend some money there too.
If you think about it we do need to invest in the squad more than I originally thought. Its ok to buy young players cheaply and try and develop them in the Under 21's but we need starting 11 players NOW ! |

Shelvey's best performances have come in the attacking midfield role where he has less responsibility tracking back.
To be honest that is the only position he should play in
Gomis up front as one last try to get something out of him |
