The Trust have made themselves irrelevant due to the failure to sell share at the Premier League and not researching investment options. They must exist.

I do not blame Levien for Cotterill Thomas Lloyd and Congreve not kicking on. It seems the locals either are not pressing on or prefered to play for Cardiff city.

Grimes stayed on Piroe would not sign a new deal and neither will Wood. Not even Roberts. The club does generally OK selling players. They are trying to find the formula Luton and Ipswich had. I wish them well. Why do anything else and promote new owners? Dreamers? It could be a very long wait with £1.5m monthly losses.

I do not i understand your logic. To sell you must provide good figures not losses of £17m on a years trading. Profits would be nice.

For this reason the club sold Jonjo Shelvey I suspect. This assisted cash flow and cash reserves while the potential US buyers were inspecting club cash reserves in detail. It would not have shown up in accounts before the sale.

what is more Exciting

I remember Bobby Robson stocking with his regulars who disappointed and was forced by a backlash to player alternative players who did much better. Wilkins and maybe Peter Reid were dropped for more exciting players.

The US ownership is a godsend. Without the US backing the club would be seriously asset stripped and in league 2 with the lime of Bradford City.

Since 2018 the academy has run dry. Nothing since Rodon James Roberts and McBurney. This should have given the club impetuous. Good results and bland players. Now the local boys seem to have drifted and Govea Azeem and Wilson can push their claims. Parker has to decide if he is committed to the cause. He has been well looked after and developed and owes the club something in return in my opinion.

He is untried and unr tested and his wages are considered in that light. If he lights up the championship like Cullen did not a generous new deal will be heading his way.

It is the agents job to squeeze out a little more and Swansea job to knock him down while promoting the club and his future prospects.

Luck of the draw
at 21:43 25 Jun 2024

Wales were in the same group as England in 2016 and as a good conspiracy theory Wales benefitted from the easy half of the draw as Wales came top. N Ireland Belgium and Portugal to the final.

This was set up for England but Wales benefitted.

Coleman is in charge. If he has to go to Levien for permission he may as well go home.

Your vision is typical anti Yank nonsense in my view. It is more likely the agent wants more claiming others are interested.

Bargaining is tough.

Juventus in for Govea?
at 21:10 25 Jun 2024

Their scout came to see Patino who has Italian heritage. It is normally to watch him in detail.

I speculated after watching a cup game that they would be more impressed with Parker not Patino who has London hype.

It could be Govea has caught their eye while watch Patino. .
I recall Reeves and Martinez flying to Spain to watch one player and coming back with the unknown with a silly name.Angel Rangel.

Saudi is not liberal. Oman next door which UK has very friendly dealings is far more liberal. Turkiye gives women rightsYou met Omani students in Wales as students and many are female . All are civil and friendly in my experience.

I agree Arabians should be encouraged to be more liberal but at their own pace. They are moving in the right direction away from the slave owners of the Taliban and Houthis in next door Yemen. They are modern day slave owners of their own women folk and should be viewed as such. They will defend their right to treat their women as slaves by force of an AK 45 and hand held missile launcher provide by Iran.

Agent trying to grind out a few hundred a week more no doubt It's called wheeling a dealing. Pato is doing the same I would think. Swansea are no more tight dusted than anyone else. Fans complain bitterly when they overpay. Fisher Peterson etc.

Manchester City update
at 20:02 25 Jun 2024

The Manchester city story goes deep into UK government and banking system. In the 2009 banking crisis Lloyd's and other banks got government bail outs. Barclays who's livery is light blue were able to get a whopping £7bln loan from Abi Dhabi and Qatar.

These investors made billions in profits. It was possibly illegal and possibly waved through by the " authorities". The suits may have asked the Arabs to reinvest some of their massive gains in UK. Man city was chosen alongside urban regeneration causes. Just the job.

Everyone seemed happy. A nasty situation avoided. Now the issue has re surfaced. It involves British banks. The Arabs saved Barclays Bank and regenerated Manchester and from their point of view are not treated very well with this inquiry.

This is a personal view and goes well beyond footie.

It is a forum. It is for speculation and ideas. It is not for a statement of boring facts. I do not accept well worn fake narratives ( imo).

One of these is HJ s ego got the better of him and he changed after 2013 /2014 and took over football decisions. HJ always took football decisions since he started. He got caught ght out when. caught out when Mr Ledbetter his recruitment man started failing badly with Duff signings like French Franck Eder. Gomis and Ayew dirt time wers excellent signing as was Bony. However all the bad signings came at once Clucas, Sanches, Mesa and Bony. Borja was also a bust a year earlier..

HJ has signed a player today for Newport. I suspect Ledbetter is still with him. They will do a good job for sure. If Toshack signs he knows Jenkins calls the shots in a consensual set up. Tosh jnr will know good young kids from Leeds and make his play. HJ accepted Clement wish to get Sanches in knowing his character. It should have worked.

Kieran Maguire on Swansea City
at 19:30 25 Jun 2024

Swansea have to play hard ball with the likes of Cullen and Patterson. They have told Cullen to earn the rise he wants. This means burying headers as a no 9 and showing more vision as a no 10. Patterson can move on if he wants more money.

Young Parker should be "looked after" for a new deal not Pato.

Thierry Henry 8/1 next Wales boss 🤔
at 19:26 25 Jun 2024

Wales has more players in the top two divisions now that they have ever had before at a guess. Watching the Euros a properly coached Welsh team could compete. There is a GK issue but the defence is PL.

MF has a young prospect Jordan James and Wilson James and Johnson behind Moore who is a handful if played properly.

They had Bale Ramsey and Allen so coaching was not so difficult. No the team needs better tactics and use the electric pace and " legs" the team has. No Welsh teams can out pass anyone at any level sadly. Colwill and Koumas is key if they can develop as they have vision and a soft touch passersto free up what Mourhino called his "young ponies".

As I pointed out on the Nichols thread Swansea have two good prospects coming through. I have a feeling Evan Watts 20-21 has something about him and was picked ahead of Chelsea prospect Beach for Wales u21. There is also Kit Margetson but he is only 17-18.

Swansea may just want a keeper for 2 years to give these guys time to develop under MM. Watts could go on loan but needs to play unless MM wants to develop him as a no 2 GK.

I wondered if Fabianski would come back? He signs one year extensions at 39. Good enough for 10 PL games last season.Top keeper to help develop Watts Broome and Marg jnr

Laudrup would have got Swansea relegated probably. Guess what? he would not have stayed on to get Swansea back up. The championship was no use to him I suspect. Monk deserves more respect. He lost Bony on fire and got Eder and Franck from France.First of a long line of useless fullbacks signed by the club. Monk ball is the "English school" of minimal flare and maximum efficiency. Sames ad Cooper.

This thinking and style is where Southgate is.

Swansea should have kept Guidliin. Deep knowledge of the game and a Goldilocks manager Swansea need. Too old to get taken away and too good ( notionally) to get sacked.

He had the reputation to bring on young players and was not adverse to forwards who can head the ball.

Juventus in for Govea?

Parker and Govea seem to be the clubs best prospects. Having seen both fleetingly Parker looks the real deal. Hopefully both can show their potential this season and Parker sign a long deal.

Who has Laudrup managed.?

Swansea was his high water mark. He was a perfect fit for Swansea for 12 then it unravelled. No big clubs have trusted him for reasons unknown.

I do not want to bad mouth him as he had that wonderful 18 months all done with Joey Allen and Sinclair money.
