I will repeat it, at the Portsmouth game (I think, this sh!t runs into one or another) Marti was out at half time, very animated on his phone.... he is under pressure for sure, possibly bought time with the Burnley/ Sunderland games, but he was very animated... no one around me saw it, and I have terrible eyesight, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened, and I'm not sure it was his better half having a go at him for leaving the immersion on |

Football also is very simple... get the ball, move the ball, move yourself into space, and those who have been assigned to hold, hold.... Boro did this time and again it's basic amd so easy, and exactly the thing that every level of football tells you to do..... we are incapable of any of this it seems. Yet ball after ball after ball is launched to our centre forward who then receives abuse for not being Puskas (the original, not the Watford version).... we don't move the ball quick enough and we don't have the intelligence or quality to open teams up...tonight was very painful, and quote unquote embarrassing |

Football is a simple game really, which you can teach to young people... "don't admire a pass" is the very very first thing anyone should be taught. For some reason we simply cannot obey this rule and despite the rare appearance of players moving into space on Saturday, we completely ignored it tonight. Boro constantly played the ball forward quickly, or had their wide players switch play with everyone looking to find space. .. basic principles which unfortunately we cannot grasp, we are dreadful, our players aren't up.to it, it seems. Why have we got Kieran Morgan, progressive, forward thinking on Saturday, reduced to a shrinking violet four days later? What's happened? Football is a simple game |

I think Morgan is pushing Madsen on as well, there's a runner and mover into space, Madsen needs to think about that. I also loved the situational analysis towards the end when he lost possession and then brought the fella down, to avoid a certain breakaway. Should've been a yellow but you have to have your game smarts about you and this kid has definitely got something. I'm very happy with Morgan, a real find. Varane was excellent today as well. |

Is it true some may have watched from Luxembourg, via the sticky, fire like heat of the Amazon? |

I'm sick of that big, round hole in the centre of the pitch not being filled with a willing and able runner/ ball player who breaks off into space and demands thr ball (until thr young lad came on).... I might also grow sick of our manager taking a heated phone call by the side of the pitch 3 mins before the second half.... |

I know football is solely based on opinions but my God does that boy hide, there's zero movement in the centre of midfield which is why we simply never make a pass beyond the two starting players with any pace... think Buzsaky, think Rowlands, think Faurlin... head up, don't admire a pass and get into space.... every time, that is simply not happening with Madsen at the moment... he lumbers about with some high degree of entitlement which befuddled me, he clearly can play, but we need a general to make this thing tick and the only one at present is Colback... im sure I could consult the LFW glossary at this stage and reach for staples such as... "get ale back in to coach the midfield" blah blah blah, but the central area at present is dead, and there's no Illy, Saito, Dembele partnership which will magically unlock this without some imagination and effort. The first thing on the minds of all four central midfielders Hull deployed all game (despite what you might think of them) was to show for the ball, spread it wide instantly or move it forwards.. we don't do that whatsoever. We play the ball into Saito's feet or behind him, never beyond... same with Dembele |

I remember that season he was introduced to the first team, the new messiah if you will, but never kicked on. On my drunken weekly £10 student ticket, the memory is very faint, however his promotion to the first team may well have coincided with the addition of whom I thought would be the answer to all our prayers on the left, Fernando De Ornelas, a player whom I bought time and again on Championship Manager. Alas, it wasn't ever meant to be. They may both have played in that game where Andy Thomson equalised in the last minute against either Tranmere or Wigan (can't remember which), but Stuart Barlow smashed in a winner for the oppo in injury time.... one of the most depressing games since the last one, the week before! |

Very disjointed indeed. We lack a central midfielder who moves into space and demands the ball, passes and then moves... a la Buszaky. Madsen isn't that guy, as he shows no sign of game sense... he admires a pass. The amount of times we completely bypassed the midfield was alarming. It s not easy to manufacture a ball playing midfielder who demands the ball, but we need to urgently coach it into Madsen. So frustrating how we haven't beaten that clueless outfit, and they were sh@t |

You'd think he'd be a bit more magnum-minous in defeat? |

I did however love Marti turning around to Lloyd in the dugout to presumably tell him that's what he needs to be doing, anticipating the loose ball. Such a great mind, I think Marti rates our Alfie very highly and wants him to succeed, tough love. |
