| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 09:49:22 Cannot stay up with defensive outings like that. Far too much time and space allowed, as well as the sloppy footwork. With Nelsen on board we'd be six points ahead by now. M'Bia was everywhere and played cleanly. MoM for me. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 03:15:14 A very bad time for Cesar to lose focus and for our back line to lose its cohesion. Samba was great but I can't help but think that this is the sort of game where Nelsen would have saved a goal or two. And possibly Green as well. Well that's water under the bridge. Kudos to the away support. A great nail biting game to watch. On the bright side our offense showed up for the third straight game. Townsend and Jenas are a revelation. Remy good but unfortunately not great today. Hoilett made some sublime attacking passes, as did Adel. Wonderful to see Taarabt's magic again. The table certainly looks bad but we must go all out for wins now, so it should be enjoyable watching us attack the rest of the way. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 01:02:17 Miss seeing Adel out there but have to agree with Melaka. Communications and possession have arguably been better without him. He's this tornado whirling through the pitch and nobody seems to know where it's going to veer and deposit the ball. Great things may happen and giveaways too. Surely there must be a role for him, but how is he going to break into this midfield that's been doing so well lately? |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 00:26:39 Agree, another good game from Bosingwa, good on him for turning his play around. Park and M'Bia solid up the middle (well done Stephane, no yellow card this game). Two goals from the wingers, and Hoilett almost made it three. Very positive. It's ideal timing for Townsend and Jenas to get a confidence boost as the dogfight heats up. Remy clinical again; the man can strike. Well done lads, "the gel" seems to have set at last, and the dressing room should be buzzing with two wins on the trot. Now go after Villa! |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 08:11:00 Best game from Park so far. Nice to see Hoilett click with Remy. And what a pleasant surprise Green was. However it's lunacy to think we can rely on him and Cesar for acrobatics every game. Anyway well done lads - keep the confidence growing. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 06:05:02 Good work from many but the usual poor ball control and anemic offensive finishing. Glimpses of positivity but it looks nowhere near enough. BZ looks done. Remy simply must stay fit and Tarbs has to play a lot better than in this outing. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 04:44:22 Again not very good and not very lucky; not the ticket for an away game against a confident, structured, and well gelled Swansea. Cesar's reliance on the punch-away save cost us dearly on the first two goals. I don't overly blame him for the 3rd goal as he had to watch the near post and I reckon Hernandez could try that cross 100 times and not score on 99 of them. 4th goal Cesar had no chance. For us to have any hope he has to be brilliant every time out and that's unlikely. The loss to England won't have helped his confidence. And yet despite everything, with a well deserved penalty and a little luck on M'Bia's and SWP's and Tarbs' shots, it could have been much closer. Still not convinced about our offense though. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 06:36:20 All Hail Cesar again. He sealed the draw. Nelsen did his duty, as did the rest of the back line. Tarbs brilliant as usual and worth the price of admission. Derry and Mbia solid again. Granero at least made amends later on. Good all round performance in difficult conditions, and a great result, but still no sign of capitalizing on promising offensive situations. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 06:56:57 I thought everyone did pretty well today, and that under the circumstances a draw and a clean sheet against a very good offensive team are good results. Cesar MoTM for me. This is another layer of much-needed confidence for the lads. What a treat to watch the deft touches from Tarbs. His passing in attacking situations has improved but we're not taking advantage of it. Hopefully we will get Cisse on the receiving end - he's still the only convincing finisher we have, so we must find a way to get him involved. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 04:43:36 Fairytale ending for SWP. Great to see how his mates celebrated with him. Can only hope that the confidence pays off. Impressive play by all, especially the back line and Adel, and we found some luck for a change. Lee Mason MoM! No major errors and he pretty much gave us a free ride after he perhaps realized he should have produced a red card for the early foul on M'bia. Perhaps there is a greater plan after all, that he was to oversee this historic away victory. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 07:37:12 This team leaves its mojo behind every time it gets on the train. When we had possession in good areas we either gave the ball away, went stupidly offside, or else for no apparent reason passed it back and lost all momentum. Atrocious passing. Thought we would eke out an ugly draw mainly courtesy of Nelsen, but did not deserve it, frankly. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 03:45:27 Today we finally got some bounces going our way. Huge win for confidence and team-building. Good outing from AF. Hope he stays in, as there would have been no quality service forward without him. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 03:00:17 Nelsen MoTM for sure. Provided half the offense and generally carried the defense. Cisse is the only one who looked convincing in attack. He reminded us that he is a scoring machine if we can just devise ways to feed him. Oh wait a second, we knew that didn't we? |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 08:08:21 Lots to like about the performance but disappointing that all the possession did not yield more scoring chances. With hindsight I wonder if we should have brought on Cisse. For a change we spent a lot of time in the opposition end, and that's what he thrives on. Under MH, not very good and not very lucky. Under Harry today, good but still not very lucky. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 06:08:39 A dire game to watch. Two anemic offenses with few ideas. Why don't we just press forward all the time when we get midfield possession? This constant stopping and back-passing just kills any momentum and we frequently lose possession anyway so why not press ahead? And well done Rob Green. You boosted your confidence and saved us a point. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 04:51:31 That was the old Ale Faurlin playing. Sharp passing and wonderful tackles. Great to see. Overall a very encouraging performance by him and the Championship era players. Need some tall strong defenders next transfer window. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 00:54:12 Lots of possession means nothing if we can't create scoring opportunities and then finish them. This team has looked unconvincing all season in the final third. The result is particularly annoying given that MH finally fielded the side that we wanted to see. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 05:02:50 The good: starting selection, lots of attacking opportunities, some very good near-misses, better discipline. The bad: service and shot quality still not good enough so too many wasted opportunities. The ugly: defending set pieces, yet again. Honestly don't know whether the bad and the ugly are due to poor management or over-rated players. Probably both. I'm conflicted about this result. Disappointed and yet encouraged. We will score goals but if we continue to defend like this it won't matter. The set piece defending will be surely tested at Stoke. And I have no idea whether MH, his assistants, or our players can do anything about it. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 00:33:34 Could have been a win if any credible offensive prowess had surfaced. Arsenal left the door open. Should have been a draw but for Mbia madness. Could not believe that MH sat Park only to put in SWP yet again. How many times does he need to demonstrate his ineffectiveness in the attacking zone? Am now in the MH doubters camp. |
