He needs to do better. I've never been one to jump on board with the hatred of our post Jenkins and Co ownership because there's never been any shortage of financial support. Wisdom has been in limited supply, but they've always put their money where their mouth is. Coleman needs to understand what he doesn't know and step aside if needs be for a Birch type to run the club. |

I've done away trips. I've seen us lose 3-0 in Newcastle, 2-0 at Kidderminster and 3-0 in Oxford. I wouldn't dream of bipping about it or demanding a refund because that's the choice you make. |

I've never understood this reverence for away supporters. They make their own choices. Nobody forces them to go. Frankly I've got better things to do with my life than trudge to East Anglia on a Saturday afternoon. |

I don't think that the "drop deep" Grimes is doing so at the managers instructions. If anything has emerged over recent seasons, it's that Grimes has far, far too much influence at the club. Is it a coincidence that Michael Duff, the only manager since Potter who has tried to force him out of his "racking up passing stats just for the sheer hell of it" mindset also had to deal with rumours of dressing room unrest? When it comes to replacing Williams, I'd be actively targeting bosses who would be willing to park his sh*t bearded, terrible set piece taking ass on the bench. |

Got tickets for Hayseed Dixie, David Gray and Reef for this year so far. Hayseed Dixie are a fun band whose covers I like. "White Ladder" is a cracking album and probably the prime contender for the one that both I and Mrs. Winston consider "ours", and Reef are one of my all time favourite bands anyway. Anyone else got stuff booked that they're looking forward to? |

A deep lying midfielder to replace Grimes and unleash Franco might be just what we need. |

Same thing with Russy. It was generally around the 60th minute that Ntcham got subbed off. Became a running joke eventually. |

There are people who would have you believe that "The Swansea Way" originated in 2007 because as we all know, Roberto Martinez invented passing football. We did gain a national reputation for playing football in a certain way during that period, but anyone who has been around long enough knows that as a club we've never tolerated long ball football for any great length of time. We've had the odd "direct" manager in our time, but they're never popular and don't last long. The kind of play favoured by the likes of Martin and Williams resembles the football we played back then about as much as Les Dawson resembles Cameron Diaz. It's a sick joke that so many people bought into the idea that it wasn't and still make excuses for Russy (and to a lesser extent Williams) to this day. |

OK. I've taken a minute to think about it. And the conclusion that I've come to is that if I was a central midfielder who had spent most of the season being made to look hapless by a manager who insisted that I was a winger, maybe I'd end up at Leyton Orient too. Squad depth is an excuse that has been made for Williams all season, but it's one that has worn thinner than Kate Moss. A weak squad can still looks like it's been coached, can still play in more than one way, can at least battle for a manager it believes in. Too many players are clearly performing within themselves at this point. |

You only have to look at how late and how predictable Williams' subs usually are. We absolutely cannot react to opposing team's tactical changes. |

There's not a single player who Williams has made better (a strong case could be made for Bellamy having a more beneficial effect on Cullen) and an awful lot who he has made worse. You can see that we're clearly not playing to the strengths of some whilst others are being deliberately hamstrung by being used out of position. All in service so some idiotic process/system call it what you want. |

It's a feature of this kind of football when you have managers not competent enough or possessing a squad strong enough to play it. We had two years of it under Russy, conceding far too many goals whilst otherwise capable players were made to look increasingly stupid in the process. We started off the same way with Williams, but that brief spell of defensive solidity convinced a few, including me for a bit, that things were different this time. Apparently not. He needs to be gone before the end of today, and serious questions asked of whoever appointed him, because nothing he has done as a manager remotely suggested that he was anything other than a cheap Martin clone or capable of managing a Championship club. The thread is about what changes you'd make to football, not history. As the OP, I believe that I can state that with some certainty. [Post edited 25 Jan 11:48]

The "F*ck Around" of Labour Socialist Policy is rapidly meeting the "Find Out" of economic reality. Sixth Form politics have no place in Government. Unfortunately we have an entire Cabinet full of Ministers whose political sensibilies haven't evolved beyond that level. [Post edited 25 Jan 10:54]

Indeed. People need to be allowed a legal defence. Even monsters. This protects the innocent as well as the guilty, something that is clearly beyond the understanding of some. |
