I like him because we saw lots of wins last season, including at Wembley.
I also felt that we were improving this season and had been pretty unlucky in terms of some of the results.
I don't particularly like the 'idea of his football'. I really couldn't care less how we win or how we score goals.
Biggest issue for me is not Martin thought, it's Armstrong, Stewart, Diaz and Cornet as PL strikers. Still got hopes for Archer and bemused that he didn't start yesterday. |

It’s all about the final third.
If we are playing well but the ball isn’t going in the net, the confidence of the whole team is going to falter.
It’s very difficult to keep positive when nothing you do reaps rewards.
We don’t have prolific strikers but RM didn’t help at all with that team selection up front. |

Worst performance of the season.
Should have built on the Ipswich performance but instead decided to change things and it backfired.

This is a good side. Balanced and should be talent enough in Dibling, Lallana and Ferndez to create chances for Archer.
This doesn't look like a relegation side to me. |

We didn't win the league or go up automatically, so he doesn't get credit for that.
But he got us promoted, so he gets credit for that, whether or not we were favorites.
Had we failed to get promoted when we were favourites, he could have been criticised for that, but that wasn't the case.
I appreciate that I am taking a very simplistic view but I just think managers are generally on a hiding to nothing (leaving aside how much they might be paid) so they should get credit for any success. |

This might seem like a trite point, but last season RM was the manager and we were promoted.
For me it's very basic. Most of the time, the manager carries the can for a team's failures. The quid pro quo is that the poor b@stard gets some credit if the team does well.
We had a record-breaking run last season. RM gets the credit for that. And for getting us promoted.
There's enough nonsense in modern football already without trying to theorise away managerial successes too. |

Fernandez is a massive upgrade on Alcaraz. Fernandez looks solid. Alcaraz never did.
The way Archer finished against Cardiff I also thought that he looked like an upgrade on Adams. |

it's pretty obvious that we are improving.
The first three games we stuck with last season's players out of loyalty. Loyalty is fair enough but three games were sufficient.
We have lots of exciting new talent now playing. Ramsdale, Sugaware, Fernadez, Dibbling, Big Les (hopefully)...
The missing link atm is up front, but I'm hopeful. Strikers thrive when they score and that hasn't happened yet, but it will. |

Last year Bednarek and Bellis formed the best partnership we've had for years.
Bellis is new to this level, but I would still be sticking with them both and thinking more about the 'protection' immediately in front of them, with Big Less looking good. |

I've just watched the first goal back a few times.
Weirdly both Diaz and Stephens are signalling to push out the defensive line (both have both arms extended pointing forward) and the defensive line including Stephens do then push out.
But Stephens is then distracted by the Utd players pushing forward, he stops, the defensive line moves past him and he's suddenly playing Utd on. |

It's not like we have to look very far to see how they could/should be playing because they played like that in the first 30 minutes, attacking and creating a lot of chances. |

Last year Bednarek and Bellis formed the central defensive partnership we've been looking for for a long time. They can do the same this season, particularly with big Les sitting in front of them.
KWP, Sugawara, Dibbling and Ferdandes (a level up on Alcarez) all look good going forward and should be able to create chances for our strikers.
Downes and Lallana can perhaps make up a solid midfield.
And Archer and Armstrong should both be able to finish inside the area, with Diaz or Stewart maybe becoming the big No.9 we haven't had for a while.
And I am due a visit to the opticians, as it happens - thanks for the reminder... |

Plenty of moronic moaning in the Chapel and I'm pretty sure I've been sitting next to away fans for the last two games. Absolutely silent, not even talking to each other (dead giveaway) and no reaction at all when the penalty was given. |

It’s about potential. I’ve watched plenty of Saints’ 90 minutes in previous years when I’ve seen nothing to provide any hope.
The 30 minutes showed that this team can win games, we just haven’t yet.
And I also know how things ‘clicked’ eventually last year.
Ramsdale, big Les, Dibbling, Fernandes, KWP, Bedarek, Sugawara, Downes all played really well yesterday.
There are plenty of positives.
Bournemouth got 3 points from their first 9 matches last year and still finished 12th. |

We’ve played 4 games of a 38 game season, in the first three of which we were loyal to last season’s players.
We lost two games by the odd goal, and silly mistakes. We were punished at Brentford for mistakes too.
Today we were the better team for 30 minutes. And, for me,we didnt look like a bad team at all.
We messed up the pen and then got sucker punched twice.
Our subs didn’t improve us.
This talk of sacking RM or of when we’re going to relegated is ridiculous.
Thank God it’s RM motivating the team rather than this message board.
There are 34 four games still to play. Thirty four. FFS. |

I've been trying to get another ticket for tomorrow's game on the ticket exchange, but drawing a blank so far.
Does anyone know if the purchase of tickets on there cuts off at some point, or should I keep trying right up to kick off? |
