I genuinely think he will. As I posted earlier in the thread, I liken this season to the season Les had on loan at Besiktas where he went somewhere and scored goals, left a raw kid and came back a man and a totally different player.
Terrible keeper bar that home game against Villa where he was Banks/Yashin/Zoff combined for 90 minutes.
About the time we signed him when Ray Wilkins was doing his trolley dash with the Les money, we could have picked Kasey Keller up from Millwall for less money.
"Tried to find stats on this but they showed we lost more games with him than we did the whole season! So I discarded them as bollox"
Eh? We only lost three when he was on loan here (Watford H, Leeds and Norwich A) remember we went nineteen unbeaten from the start of the season. We lost another three in the rest of the season after he left to go on loan at Villa.
I was proper pissed off at the time that we didn't make Kennedy permanent and what really stuck in the craw was him being signed by Kinnear's horrible Wimbledon team almost straight after and being absolutely criminally wasted there.
I suppose if you're offered a chance to stay in the Premier League you take it but I wonder if he regretted that move years down the line.
Real Madrid did it themselves in the European Cup back in the 70s. Thrashed 4-1 at The Baseball Ground in the first leg of the second round with Charlie George in his pomp getting a brace, Derby lost the second leg 5-1 in Madrid.
Couldn't see it at the moment. A couple of weeks ago he accepted a job as sporting director and head of soccer in a brand new second tier expansion franchise in MLS so he's basically been given a blank sheet of paper to build something there from the ground up.
