Froch v Groves 13:24 - Nov 21 with 2409 viewsaleanddale

Should be a good one.

anyone see the pantomime pre fight conference today?.

Groves telling Froch his game plan and exactly what he will do for the first 3 x rounds was brilliant.

Look out for those 2 x rights first round Carl!!.

Froch should have to much experience but this is shaping up to be a great fight night.

When did we become all American with the trash talk?.

Think froch has got better with age and could prove a little too experienced,i think they both genuinely dislike each other which always makes for a good old tear up!!

Froch was on Talksport yesterday and I caught the end of that interview, clearly a lot of bad blood between the two. Although didn't they previously have a good relationship until Groves went over to a boxers training camp who was due to fight Froch. Think its Froch's to lose.

That last point has been mine from the start, Froch has everything to lose. If Groves loses, he can bounce back having gone down to one of the best British fighters of the past 10-15 years. If Groves wins, it will launch him to stardom and Froch's career will be as good as gone and it will be a very sour end.

That said, I can't see past Froch and I can't wait for the fight. Anyone got a free link for it?

Press conference was good entertainment for the media, think tomorrow's weigh in could boil over and see a few fireworks. Should be a great fight and strangely I think Groves will nick it on points, although think it will be very close on the scorecards.

Genuine animosity between the two of them not hammed up for the camera. Going to be close

That's an utter boll0ks of a stoppage. Groves was well on top and had earned more time from the ref, that he didn't get.

Cracking fight and must admit i like Froch but that was stopped far too early even more so considering how much Groves was ahead,he was under pressure but always looked like he could defend himself.Looks like another money maker to me rather than a refs decision

Just got back thread (slightly pissed one);

Awesome battle. Groves well on top through 'boxing' for first 6 rounds, then got dragged into a brawl and lost his concentration. Not many will beat frotch by street fighting. I've always liked Froch but his interview afterwards was ridiculous. He even seemed to be grateful for a stoppage, rather than going on and probably/having a chance to win outright.... agree with it all being a money maker without doubt. Shame really, that could have been one of the best all British fights, ever, if it had gone a bit further and not spoilt by the stoppage.

Two of the judges had Groves only ahead by one round. Given that he was tiring and Froch was starting to gain some momentum, its quite conceivable that had the fight lasted the distance that Froch could have won on points which would have been a worse decision than the stoppage. Personally, I had Froch down by around five rounds.

But for Hearn PLC, it was the best possible result. There's nowhere else for an aging Froch to go now, and talk of a Ward rematch is a joke. Theres nowt like an unfair decision to build the hype for a rematch.

Interesting article involving referee Howard Foster online.
Seems to make the premature stoppage even more questionable.

The fight was stopped too early and it was made a bit of a farce but I think that Froch would have won by knockout before the end of the round anyway. Groves was dragged into a scrap in that round and played into Froch's hands but had bossed the fight prior to that and Froch didn't seem to have an answer.

Hearn will have been rubbing his hands together.

Agree with you, groves came out and shocked froch early, probably because froch was taking far to lightly something I doubt he'd do again. But as soon as he rocked groves the was only one way it was going. Early stoppage but still groves didnt handle being wobbled in the right manner imo leaving himself open to get hurt.

I think if there was ever a rematch Froch would look totally different, as long as its sooner rather than later. Could groves do that again?

Great fight from Groves. For Froch to go from sleeping to even finish the round amazed me.
