The what ya watching thread on 19:07 - May 5 by FearOfAJackPlanet | Didn't see The Sopranos first time round, got the whole lot downloaded and ready to rock, watched the first 4 episodes today, can tell already I'm going to love it. |
It's masterful television. Puts the likes of Breaking Bad and Lost to shame.

I thought BB was a quality show irrespective of other programmes. If The Sopranos is in a different league then so be it, BB is still good. Lost is a weird one. I watched the first 2 series, and found it quite enjoyable at first, but I haven't started season 3 and have no real desire to do so; Doesn't hold your interest after the initial burst of enthusiasm.

After the 'hatch' is resolved it goes the way everything JJ Abrahms has done since, over a cliff

The what ya watching thread on 19:49 - May 5 with 2383 views | Darran | There's some of the funniest bits of comedy in The Sopranos ever. I actually fell off the settee and was rolling about on the floor when Paulie went to visit Tony in hospital, one of the funniest bits of TV I've ever seen. The episode when Paulie and Christopher are sitting in the van stuck in the snow is hysterical too.

Everyone loves a wisecrack, and I was creased up at one today "Oh Junior, if there's any flies on you they're paying f*cking rent!" I laughed.

Totally agree with your views on The Sopranos. Brilliant action, brilliant comedy, double brilliant acting and soundtrack and triple brilliant scripting. (Spoiler alert!) - late on in series 5 (I think) Paulie admits he's also been seeing a therapist. "I have coping issues," he tells Tony. This became a family catchphrase in my house. But nobody's mentioned The Wire! Almost as good. Currently watching Justified and Scandal.
The what ya watching thread on 19:31 - Nov 20 with 2090 views | JonnyTheJack | 2 eps left of Sons Of Anarchy. The latest episode is superb, some great acting in it. Anyone else watch it? Started watching Kingdom too. Gone under the radar a little bit because it's not on one of the big US channels but it's great. Bonus if you like MMA too. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3673794/
The what ya watching thread on 21:15 - May 5 with 2007 views | JonnyTheJack | What are people (binge) watching at the moment then? Just got up to date with Game of Thrones. Not usually into 'fantasy' tv series/films but it's great. Finished Parks and Rec. Not quite as good as The US Office but good nonetheless. Amy Poehler is brilliant. One of my favourites i've watched though is Bloodline on Netflix. Slow a times but the last 3/4 episodes are great. Love the way it's filmed in the Florida keys. Kyle Chandler great in it but Ben Mendelsohn is the standout in it and is already being tipped for awards.

Loved the way he lumped all Islam , Christianity and Judaism together. Not like there are many doctrinal differences is it .. a deep theological study it was not. In the end he decided he'd rather be a gay Israeli atheist anyway so good luck to him

The what ya watching thread on 14:56 - Jan 5 with 1445 views | Ebo | I watched Quentin Tarantino's new film last night - The Hateful 8. All I can say is that it's up there with his best work (if not his best work). The dialogues and atmosphere he creates in this are staggering, I'm not going to spoil it though but if you are looking to see a really good film this weekend then choose this. 10/10
