Government Green Deal 16:01 - Aug 7 with 2541 views | Goth_Jack | Hi All Just had a telephone call from Devaun Green Deal Services, apparently the Green Deal is a government initiative to help the carbon footprint. ( http://www.dvgreendealservices.co.uk) They asked me questions about inside/hardwall/attic insulation, how old my boiler was - because they would replace if more than 6 years, or less than 80% productive, etc. They also said they would check the windows for drafts, condensation, and replace seals, etc. You pay £299+VAT, a Green Deal (government) surveyor comes around to check what is needed, then they get on and do it. Seems a bit too good for me, the guy seemed a bit salesy too. He said, "if you pay by credit card, it gives you the protection and reassurance that you can cancel the payment, etc" He also said "Have you got a credit card, I can take your details now, then send a contract out in the post". Advice please.

Government Green Deal on 16:21 - Aug 7 with 2498 views | Goth_Jack | They said they would call me back at 16:30 hrs to discuss further. They called me from their Neath Office at 16:00hrs, I didn't answer. 2 mins later they called again from the Neath office, I didn't answer. 5 mins later, a Private Number called, 5 mins later the Neath number rang again. They seem a little desperate for me, they clearly get some form of commission for arranging the surveyor/fees. I've been doing some research on the Green Deal online, Devaun Green Deal Services mentioned nothing about making repayments through my energy supplier! "There's no such thing as a free lunch!" , I guess. lol
