Afternoon all, Spireite here who goes to Dale a fair amount with a mate.

Thought this would tickle you lot.

Got to Gigg Lane about 2:30 and queued up for a pie in the away end. Children of the revolution playing on the tannoy, "the revolution starts here" we were told, a few puzzled looks on CFC faces. About 10 local "yufff" giving verbal abuse to everyone walking past, more puzzled looks.

Subsequently quite a lot of aggro in the snack bar near the entrance. No alcohol on sale, no burgers left, pies nearly run out (before the majority of away fans even in the ground).

When quizzed some classic quotes from the tea ladies on duty:

"The stewards won't let us sell booze as they don't think they will be able to control you lot, they say there are too many of you here for them"

"We were told that 300 away fans would turn up so ordered pies and burgers accordingly"...there were 1,200 away fans there

To which some wag replied, "we'll it's no wonder you went out of business really is it?"

A few strains of "small town in Rochdale" really seemed to rile the locals too.

Viva la revolution. Tinpot.

Ps hope you lot as my second team have a great season.

Always nice to hear of the continued revolution at our local Ikea...I mean Giggle Lane. So happy you turned them over and a good win from us made it a perfect day.....How did Grimes play? Did he manage to break into a sweat?

Poll: Hill in or out? 2nd referendum.....

Grimes did nothing. Got hauled off shortly after half time. To be fair we were awful in the first half and they did ok. Second half a completely different story they hardly touched the ball.

Ended hilariously with Gary Roberts trying to pass a bit of time playing keepie uppie with a ball boy (who didn't seem to realise he was wasting time), felt like a pre season friendly in second half

Doesn't surprise me about Grimes, he is the laziest sod I have ever seen kick a ball...What was the attendance?

That is the kind of post that can give you legendary status on these parts, that was a good read, certainly tickled me.

Not sure on the attendance.

Worth saying that our two first choice centre backs (Ian Evatt, Liam Cooper) were out so Ryan Edwards played alongside Sam Hird and did more than enough against Harrad and Grimes. Tom Soares looked ok for them

The Keith Maddock twitter feed makes for great reading tonight.

A beanpole would do enough against Grimes.

Bury wore a different kit to the new one they announced they were getting last week. Watching the highlights, the shirts all looked to be too big as well.

Just seen that on their o/s but I don't think that's for discussion here.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

It's a deal that the club will be happy with.
