Super League 19:32 - Sep 15 with 2690 viewsjajadale

Great entertaiment on Sky the last two nights so far, and 3 more weeks to follow.

(Cue Egg chasing abuse)

Obv it doesn't come close to football but i genuinly love it, its a fast paced game with lots of action and the best point of it it the fact you can hear the ref talking to the players.

Do you think this would work in football or do you think SKY havn't introduced it due to the language and disrespect shown in football and basically inviting an OFCOM report?

Rugby League players have always had respect for the referee. If they don't then they are sin binned or sent off. That culture has always been there.

I think they should have it in football but they first have to get tough on players disrespecting the ref.

Spot on, the respect to the ref has got to be admired, but also the respect to the opponent is great to see. They smash the shit out of each other and more often then not there is a couple of scraps but at the end of the game its all forgotten and they give each other a guard of honour walking of the pitch. Great role models for any young lads watching and it's no suprise the attendance figures grow year on year whilst football seems to go the other way.

With an average winning margin of almost 30 points over the first three play off games it lacks something ion competitiveness.

And now its down to the 'pick yiour next opponent' stage.

The clowns in charge of Rugby league (going back to maurice thirty pieces of silver Lindsay ) wanted to turn it into entertainment - in the same way as disneyland is entertainment.

Teams go bankrupt but face next to no punishmen t even though they were suposed to have gone through a very strict licensing process last year.

Its a great game when played at trhe highest level (e.g., Aussies v NZ or NSW v Queensland) but we see so little at that level because of the clowns that run the game.

Although the game is struggling financially they have decided to add four new teams to the lowest level (thats the level where the crowds are 250 or less).

Already six moths before they are due to start one of the four has gone belly up!

Good post. A few years after being a referees decision away from a trip to Wembley, Oldham were consigned to oblivion due to gay Maurices decisions. Why? One of the reasons was he did not like Oldhams chairman. A club with history was put in the bin so the RL could have a club in Paris. What happened to that team? (grated the Oldham chairman was accused of dodgy dealings as well, but the fans were the ones penalised.)
Spot on about the Aussie game(NRL) Slightly higher pace and skill standard every week, so when GB play the Aussies, they have to raise their game standard. They usually fail to do that.
Also said before, that game should not be played on the Football(soccer) paddock. Hornets out. (to share with Mayfield)
