Entertaining game... Fleetwood were several times better than Barnet, although we "rested" several first teamers, and were noticeably slow though midfield despite Tutte covering as best as he could.

It started fairly evenly, and I thought our penalty was a fairly clear penalty, but the keeper couldn't get out of the way of the onrushing player, so it shouldn't have been a yellow.

Our new keeper Smith looked very assured throughout, and pulled off several good saves, together with some excellent distribution. Lillis will have to be on his game to keep the number one jersey.

After half time, the clear MOM Putterill, who was full of running and caused them no end of problems, cut in from the left and curled a beauty past the keeper from 25 yards or so.

At 2-0 you would think that it would be game over, but our cumbersome central pairing of Craney (why is he here?) and BBM (why was he given another deal) allowed Fleetwood back into the game.

Their first goal came from a free header when (BBM?) tracked his forward half way and then stopped still, allowing his man a simple and unchallenged header.

Their second goal was again down to awful defending, when a free kick eluded all of our static defenders, and their chap nipped round the back unchallenged to score. We simply hadn't picked him up at all despite everyone yelling that they had a man over.

So penalties it was... and Putterill, McIntyre, Edwards (wow...what a pen!!!) and Grant all scored, with Tutte having his kick well saved.

Fleetwood had two pens well saved by Smith, and the tie was won.

Not sure of the crowd...certainly many more in the Main Stand than on Saturday...probably because the cheapskates from behind both goals came over to get a decent view for a change

Good evenings entertainment for a fiver. Well done to the clubs for agreeing to subsidise the night.

Funny game. We looked in total control until we forgot how to defend for about twenty minutes; you know there are problems when the crowd are telling players who to mark.

Their first was another nearest corner run, and the second was a the result of a wall with too many men and players not recognising Fleetwood had men over on the edge of the box. The phrase 'Sunday league defending' was invented for moments like that.

Smith: did well apart from his wall building
Pearson is getting better each game as he gets used to playing at this level.
McIntyre and P. Edwards were fine and Bennett looks to be good cover who can push for a place.

BBM is ok at times but games pass him by too often, Craney the same and as he's on a short term deal it doesn't appear as though he'll feature much.

Putterill on the other hand needs a long contract now - he should start on Saturday as he can actually play the wide role in our formation without looking uncomfortable. Grant fits in similarly and you'd expect both to be either side of Adebola on Saturday.

Donnelly needs a rest. It's best left there and hope his apparent lack of quality is down to confidence at he moment.

Surprised we didn't chuck Adebola on late on to hold it up, but we kept going and deserved to go through because our penalties were better. And that's what mattered!

Hopefully another local derby, maybe the winner of Portsmouth v Bournemouth.

Are they just over the moors?

That comment tells you all you need to know about our fans and there goalkeeper bashing!! The lad makes his first appearence for us, plays well, saves two pens and that's the response. No wonder we have had our troubles. Best of luck to Josh, Smith and Edwards this season! Come on, credit where its due to our keepers sometimes!!!

Smith did fantastically well, especially in the shoot-out, but Fleetwood scored from one free-kick and almost did from another, so 442's wall comment is spot on, something I'm sure the goalkeeping coach will have noticed and both him and Smith will be working hard to rectify next time.

It was something Jimmy Bell and the bench were discussing straight away.

Bell then used a break in play to shout over to Smith in an attempt to ask why he felt four was necessary in the wall.

Smith played well, but he had too many players in the wall.
