I think JC would love to keep Grimes and Adams, but I don't think they'll stay. Adams has seemed disillusioned all season and Grimes hasn't really looked interested since he joined the club except for one or two decent performances.
I think both could do a great job for us in L2 but I think they'll be looking for a way out and I can't see JC wanting to keep players who aren't 100% committed. |
I reckon JC cant wait to see the back of Grimes and Adams, if JC would love to keep Grimes for instance , why does he hardly ever start a game and sometimes he isnt even on the bench ?
I cant get my head around some posters suggestions that all the managers dont know what they are doing because they havent played to Grimes strengths and some even suggest the team should revolve around him.
So basically if the manager doesnt do what Ashley Grimes wants then everybody is wrong and our Ashley isnt to blame. He is the type of player that will take us all the way into the conference, his attitude stinks and he his the laziest player i have ever seen pull on a Rochdale shirt, thats saying something. I'd love to see us sign Grant, liked him under Hilly, and has the right attitude towards the game, just wants to play football, and hopefully under Coley can deliver, Symes can go jump in the south coast sea as far as I'm concerned. |

I think Nicky Adams is one of the most frustrating players we have had in recent years. He doesnt score very often and only seems to have good games when we play Bury. He usually cant beat the first man when he puts a cross in or its catching practice for the goalkeeper. He can however beat a man and has pace and thats it.. Send him back to Bury!! |  |

I don't think any of the below, but I do think that both Adams and Grimes are capable of playing to a L1 standard in the right system and with the right management and motivation. In our current situation I reckon JC would love to have players of that quality and the chance to work with them and get them playing to their potential. If nothing else it's potential transfer money in the bank.
The alternative is we get rid and bring in proven, unspectacular non-league plodders on free transfers. No Dale player will ever be the finished article because they'll be sold or leave long before that.
I think both Adams and Grimes have had a poor season and that both need to work harder and begin to reach their potential. I'd rather they did that under JC at Dale than at some other club.

I appreciate your opinion but you state "JC would love to have players of that quality to work with (Grimes and Adams)" Thats the bit that i cant understand.
JC HAS been working with them since January and on lots of occasions has choosen not to pick them in the starting eleven and even dropping them from the subs bench on numerous occasions.
I dont think its a case of them being inudated with offers from league one clubs, the fact is they havent been good enough to even command a starting place in the poorest team in league one. I dont even know what Grimes full potential is, when has he shown it apart from scoring goals in league two a couple of years ago.
Dagnall wasnt anything special but being truthfull, i would say he was the twice the player Grimes is, just try to compare both players and it puts into perspective Grimes performances. Anyway its about opinions and like you state, you obviously rate Grimes a lot higher than i do. | | | |

Grimes - Although thats more who I would like to go.
But I don't think he's worth keeping at all, unless he gets rid of that attitude and starts trying instead of stropping, however I doubt that.
Adams - If it is true that Bury wants him and he would prefer them, I'd have no problem, he hasn't been outstanding this season and if he wants to jump ship anyway, I'd rather have him gone so we can fill his place with someone who actually wants to play at this club.
Hackney - I have a feeling he might leave and we'll get some sort of struck deal with the club and himself for all we paid towards him this season. Although I'd really like him to stay due to the great things I heard in pre-season.
Trotman - Too much negativity about him, unless we permantly have swapped him for Holden, which is a bad deal. However I'd like to see what he's capable of not under Eyre.
Twaddle - Don't think he would want to stay after this season and I don't blame him, he's come to a club to sit on a bench. Quite a talented young lad, but we've wasted potential this season. Reckon he'll go back to the club we bought him from too.
It would be worth a shout of Akpra Akpro moving, I think he's really come on this season and alot of clubs will be intrested and rightly so, think the main concern is to get him signing a new contract.
Same story with Jason Kennedy too, talented player for sure and to prove he was voted best player at our club this season by fourfourtwo. Unless we have him/them both under a good contract, however just to be safe I'd get the pen out and ready! | | | |
