A changed line up for tonight.

Barlow in and Henderson starting. Maybe he can roll back the years for us.

Hope the crowd gets behind the players. Need a win.

Up the dale!

And I reckon with VAR it might have been offside after Henderson almost missed it into Mitchell’s path.

Positives: we changed formation and created some chaos by actually making the opposition think. It deserved the equaliser and Henderson will be disappointed to probably not have had a hat trick. That alone has finally illustrated that McNulty will change how we set up.

Negatives: it came too late and the game was only going to be a draw at best once the changes were made.

It’s a results business.

Jim will definitely say 'we battered them Greg'.
And their keeper was man of the match but its no surprise we scored when we actually had a shot on goal which he spilled - probably his only mistake unfortunately for him. Just too many passes with not enough end product again for the 6th game in a row now.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Tamworth’s form is almost as bad as ours - they haven’t won in six games. Absolutely unacceptable result Jim.

A poor result against a poor team. To be fair i thought we knocked it about well tonight especially in the second half. We aren't ruthless in the final third though and that's been apparent all season. Draws are like defeats now, theyre no good,

They also picked up that McNulty is statuesque and says nothing on the sideline seemingly happy with what he sees.

Described him as "un-animated"

Indeed it is a results business, especially in the league.
No wins and just 4 points gained from the last 18 available.
2 goals scored in those 6 games. Both away from home. 0 goals scored in 4 home league games so it fails on the criteria of an entertainment business as well. Our eyes tell us this over those games, and many others. With a "play-off squad" budget.

Tranmere sacked their manager almost immediately last night after yet another dismal result. I hope we win on Saturday, but there is only one option available if we lose. That's where we're at.

Desperation-stakes subs is a very long way from the fundamental changes needed

So

Their commentators describes the game at the start as a 'dead rubber' both teams with nothing to play for. So season over gents... maybe explains the performance levels.

Their commentators said towards the end of the game (I kid you not)....... :

'and here come Rochdale, tip tapping around the box'

On the corner issue specifically, I get why we tried to do something different in the final minutes when every corner we had before that floated into their keepers' arms unchallenged. Woeful.

Tangled up in blue.

Had plenty of time chatting on the way back with TVOS on the game and now seeing the highlights it to me shows the difference between seeing it on the poor recording and actually in person.
Highlights,
Far far better than saturday even taking into account the "inferior" opposition, passing was much crisper and a better playing surface to keep the ball on the deck (even though it doesnt seem like it on the video).
Belief was in the players body language from minute one which is also a positive after saturday and shows the mental scars are not being dwelled on.
First half we got a bit lucky by being only 1 nil down (waller saved us 2/3 times ,messed up on 1) It happens but im glad it didnt seem to dwell on his mind.
Second half was very interesting indeed and very enjoyable to watch, there is something about a small away following in a small ground when you are up sh-t creak without a paddle and you need a result.
Almost one way traffic BUT somebody built a brick wall about 20 yards out and this is the negative part,we dont look to have that final ball.
Twice in 3 minutes not on the video it opened up 20 yards out middle of the goal and we decided to pass to the wide players ,who does that ?
We cant defend against the the horrible little/big gnarly players that is whats needed to get out of this league ,we cant scrap a result or seem to win the midfield battle that jonah used to do,the list goes on and on.
From what i have seen and im not calling for the gaffers head but i said last night my opinion is this team and style of play will not get us out of this league , we are too lightweight and need to be a bit more like barnet and southend of old ,big rough with pace.
On to season defining saturday at home on the sand pit cabbage patch .
