The fans forum was going to be a difficult evening for the Chairman.

The manager has now made it ten times harder.......

I agree with your opinion on this new guy coming in, if indeed it is who we think it is and I do wonder if Williams got in Colemans ear regarding this fella, it feels like it makes Williams position stronger as well, if indeed he has advised Coleman to go down this route.

I agree it's not good.

I wonder if Luke discussed his thoughts with Andy before he went to the press conference?

Why is the club trying to reinvent the wheel ? … every season … it’s like the blind leading the blind. Pathetic doesn’t even start to describe the incompetence

Of course, this is the first time in history that a football club has had to manage a transfer window.

It would have been the other way around. AC has seen the press conference as an opportunity to strategically manoeuvre the blame from him onto others saying he has been let down by people not doing what was asked of them. An astute tactic really as it maybe people will have more sympathy than anger at the FF.

Williams and Martin before him just talk too much. He could have used much better words like the chairman going "into Overdrive to try an save deal that had gone awry".

The club took the decision not to replace Watson and it has not worked.

Two decent loan signings were made and other permanent in the Summer is not disastrous as it is being projected. We are clearly gong to get apologies again. I hope the pain of regret will not be dragged out too long.

If he’s trying to stab his chairman in the front after one win in 6 games he’s committing professional suicide. It’s not all about transfers - any manager worth his salt has to be able to make the best of what he’s got. Performances have been dire for a long time and this kind of behaviour is him covering up his own inadequacies. One win doesn’t make him Guardiola and that win was mostly down to the player brought in by Coleman. Poor show.

A couple of wins yesterday and v Wednesday will take the heat off Coleman. He could present the window as a successful one by removing the player most dictating the pedestrian tempo and replacing with two very solid premier league quality loans. OBrien and Delcroix.

Williams like Martin talks too much and are like their teams too open . Williams has to make Coleman happy firstly and not focus on the fans. Win game and the fans are sorted.

All the ongoing issues should be kept in-house.

Luke gave too much away in the press conference on Friday.

Maybe Coleman needs to acknowledge the fact his skillset is not up to rigours of the job he thinks a Chairman of a football club needs, maybe Williams comments and assessment of Coleman's situation is right in that he needs better staff around him so he can delegate and share the load with others more qualified in different areas off the game than Coleman himself.
Makes you think who has authorised some of the poor signing we have had both before and during Coleman's reign some very hit and miss decisions, people being advised incorrectly or not qualified to make the right decision for the club.

A lot of posters were completely wrong about Montague and Williams. Suggesting Williams had a free ride because they were mates was clearly a bogus analysis and fake. No surprise there.

I suggested that their relationship had no bearing and I'd f the results continued to be poor he still would get sacked especially after some unwise statements about the Chairman.

I started ted that in the forum the club would have to give the manager a " points target" which failing to achieve would have had consequences. In the end the target was not needed and Williams left with Montague' s approval.

It appears, from another great site report, that the decision had mostly been made the week before and the hold up was due to a death in the family of a major stakeholder.
Williams was axed the day before Montague started so out of his hands.
But, I do agree with you that the connection between the two did not protect Williams.
I was one who thought that it would, but, clearly you were right there

The information given at the time, does not always correlate with the information a week later. That’s the issue with daily reporting, it’s as it happens and what is known at that time. We have no information as to what conversations happened before Montague turned up, but we do know now it wasn’t that much of a big deal. Which has surprised every person who we are trusted to talk to. It’s easy in hindsight, but opinions and people change every day. Remember there’s no more free radical than folk.
