Should we join the Welsh cup next season on 16:07 - Jan 17 by union_jack
This is about Swansea City and the dangers that this proposal may bring. Leave the international stuff out.
Blackburn (presumably the catch all club for all EFL teams in your mind) will be affected if they are not afforded a similar opportunity. As I’ve said before, make the cup available for all EFL clubs just so there’s a level playing field. It’s the system we play in and could easily and possibly justifiably be asked to leave in the future.
Liverpool to the best of my knowledge play in the PL so it doesn’t affect them.
I can see your thinking is built upon a foundation of doing what we want in Wales and stand up to them, never surrender attitude. I don’t even think you’d care if we were expelled and were to a Welsh league with Welsh only players who only speak Welsh and have the same inherent hate of the English / Anglos / Anglo Saxon (or whatever you class us as) as you do. Shameful!
You are a flag man and your whole ethos is anti Welsh Independence, I get it. There is a slant in all your posts.
I was against this plan and felt Eufa would not accept it. Wales got a lucky break.
Once Newcastle got lucky break and got bought by a Sovereign wealth fund with an leadership links to the murder off a journalist amongst many other civil right issues. The FA waved it through.
They take harsh action on little old Wales looking to cash in on a lucky break. Man City 135 charges no problem.
Swansea lucky break is out of the question because it is "unfair" . Laughable.
Swansea in the EFL like they have always been. The law of precedent.
Level playing field . This is English football. There is nothing fair about it.

I can’t be bothered to say it all again so my advice to you is to go follow one of the Welsh teams in the Cymru league or whatever it’s called.
Then you won’t have to worry about the unfairness of playing in the English system and you can live your parochial life chanting for your new club.
Oh, and join their forum. You’d probably find a way to alienate most of the members on that site as well!

There has always been a resentment of many supporters of English based clubs regarding Welsh teams playing in English leagues. This project has escalated the opinion and FSA recognise this and have asked the FA and EFL to concider the supporters opinion before reaching a decision. If the FA and EFL don't do this the ill feeling will only escalate and come to a head later on. If the FA and EFL listen to the opinion of the majority of supporters they will turn down the request. It's then up to the four clubs if they want to withdraw from the English pyramid, which would never happen, but there would still be much ill feeling.
Ok, I understand the ill feeling, but if theEFL or FA turn us down due to fan’s discontent, fair enough.
If they ignore the fans and accept us and let us do it, who gives scrap how many English fans hate us more? I would welcome it.
I just don’t get how that would put our place at risk in future, as the powers that be are the ones who made the decision.
Contracts signed, hoe can that be reversed in future 🤷♂️

Why is it so hard to convince some on here of this??? Too busy thinking about a p1ss up with the boys in the sun and neglecting to think about the long term.

Yet another dig at Swansea fans. English perpsective....utter rubbish, that people see and understand the possible problems while you fail to even comprehend the difference between the Asian cup and the Welsh cup, it says a lot.
The matter involves the EFL because that is where we play our football. It;s just another comprehension failure.
Who has objected to paying more for Season tickets? You made that up. It doesn't make us weaker but it does increase the workload and means we would need a substantially stronger squad for next season, that costs money and as we are apparently not spending much this window because of P&S concerns, how do we manage that?
It’s literally 4 games max mate.
Seems to me that Fa and EFL would make us play our stronger XI in their competitions, so we would probably have to play a weaker side in the Welsh Cup games.
If we qualify for Europe, we can use our full squad. May not be good enough to progress far, but if TNS can do it…

FA and EFL haven't agreed to this it's opening a can of worms which we could come to regret.
And for what a tin pot cup that if we win it, our season will start in June
You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

It simply is not opening a can anything let alone worms
If it’s agreed and passed all legal angles and loopholes will be checked, double checked and ratified to ensure that this has no adverse effect in the future. The same applies to Cardiff Newport and Wrexham. Do you think that they would risk anything? All bases will be covered.
Tin pot cup? I think not. It’s our National cup. With huge benefits that go with winning it.
Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day

What are the benefits? Nobody outside of Wales will give a hoot who wins it, of course it's only a small poll on here but 59% don't want it

Currently only 27% want it which is more damming.
What is damning is the lack of ambition and timidity by the fans. Eufa have given Welsh teams free pass to rs enter the competition. It is a lucky break but will be blocked by English jealousy.
No English ans objected to West Ham and Man city picking up stadiums for pennies of Him government or Arab Sovereign wealth fans bankrolling PL teams driving a bus through the rule book.

There you go again, xenophobia and straw men argument. Par for the course.

Swerved from the point that the EFL have objected and the FA are still to discuss it. Only a quarter of Swansea supporters want it. Possibly the club should have discussed it with the supporters first. You said it would definitely go ahead, I still think the competition will not be sanctioned by the FA.
This us the very worrying comment for me from the BBC. "Even if their plans are rejected by the FA, the FAW and Wales' four EFL clubs have indicated they will not give up on the venture." Hopefully this will mean only a pre season tournament with no European qualification. Any more and I fear for our league position.

If the EFL make it clear there’s no way. Make it clear we are out. Stupid idea and possibly the worst ‘planning’ we’ve seen from Coleman ever. Although the Gude was involved, I mean wtf does he know ?
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Maybe someone needs to tell him this is doing us no favours. I don’t have his number though.

Supporters own the Trust and have shown their judgement is very poor. Eufa have offered Wales a place and the English have v blocked it despite the fact we had this privilege 20 years ago.
Coleman wants to grow the club despite local resistance. The useless Trust prevented investment by their silly legal case which predictably fizzed out Before Morgan and Jenkins the club a waste a basket case. It is no coincidence many fans resent them making a million or two.

The vast majority of Swansea City supporters have nothing to do with the trust. If there was a vote the majority of Swansea City supporters would vote against the crackpot idea of this cup competition.
