Let's put this to bed... on 18:39 - Jan 1 with 3219 views | mart_Goblin | He looks like he is finally starting to believe in himself . A lovely cross for Field today and he terrorised Watford in that second half . Been critical of him a lot but fair play to him because he is becoming integral to how we play . Just hope he doesnāt suffer an over usage injury similar to Cook for example as he leaves everything on that pitch every week

Let's put this to bed... on 18:42 - Jan 1 with 3167 views | StreathamRanger | I lost patience with him a few weeks back. Gave him some grief at the Middlesbrough game which I now regret. He's a good lad who never hides. He was fantastic today and deserved his motm award. Playing as well as he ever has and definitely worth his place injuries or not.
Let's put this to bed... on 18:45 - Jan 1 with 3128 views | Gloucs_R | I like Smyth, he reminds me of Mackie..... Always gives his all. But, I'm not sure I would put him in the "very good player" category. Similarly to Mackie, he has his limitations. Heart and desire not being them! For me, he's not consistent enough in the final third. But there are signs that this is improving. Fingers crossed he continues to improve as we do love a committed trier at Rangers.

Totally agree with this. Very similar vibe to Mackie. Has added quality to his endeavour now also. Picking the right cross, ball and a never ending amount of stamina. Excellent today and after his unreal goal at Bristol City, it's brilliant to see. [Post edited 1 Jan 18:52]

Let's put this to bed... on 18:55 - Jan 1 with 2991 views | Benny_the_Ball | His fitness, determination, courage, pace and work ethic could never be questioned. He's added an end product to his game which is pleasing to see. His crossing in particular has improved markedly. If he can now improve his finishing, he'll be quite the player. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

He's scored with a first time effort from 50 yards the other week, so that's a start then !!!! [Post edited 1 Jan 18:59]

Totally agree with you but sometimes different questions are asked Always thought he did the hard bit and stuffed up the easy bit. Have to say end product is now evident and Iām not sure even his harshest would have ever accused him of not trying Iāll admit Iād said it was frustrating watching him at times but that was along with the rest of the team when we were playing shite Fair play to him, delighted to see him playing so well, long may that continue - heās never lacked athleticism which certainly the team as a whole does
Let's put this to bed... on 19:19 - Jan 1 with 2723 views | Tonto | There is a lot more end product to his game these last few months. He uaed to run down a blind alley and fall over. Now he makes dangerous crosses that makes him 5 timea better

Let's put this to bed... on 19:20 - Jan 1 with 2705 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Nope, Smyth is not 'a very good player'. If he was, he wouldn't be playing for QPR. He is, however, an absolute nightmare to play against. His work rate is fantastic, Madsen should take note. He is I think, a reason for helping to stem the conceding of goals as he works back and doubles up. Both fullbacks look a lot less isolated now. I thought he was really good today, but don't forget his mistake led to Watfords goal.

Let's put this to bed... on 19:24 - Jan 1 with 2659 views | paulparker | Gives a 100% every time he wears our shirt and always seems to put in 2-3 world class crosses a game , it was a mistake us getting rid of him in the first place imo as Warburtons teams were always lacking pace
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
Thatās there thatās two, and thatās Bowles

Let's put this to bed... on 19:34 - Jan 1 with 2565 views | hoopstar67 | I've always liked Smyth, gives his all every single minute of every game, people forget that he is an old fashioned right winger and actually playing on the right, does my head in with this fad last few years of playing people on the opposite side of their strongest foot and constantly cutting in ,but as a winger throughout the years they are inconsistent, even the best ones, but over the last 6 or 7 weeks his quality has improved and he is definitely an important part of the team now which has in turn helped with confidence.
Let's put this to bed... on 19:34 - Jan 1 with 2555 views | HammersmithR | Paul Smyth is a much better player than Jamie Mackie! Mackie ran around, but had little quality. Smyth has pace and has come on a huge amount under Marti. His final product is so much better but still has plenty to do with his finishing. But he has pace which Mackie simply never had. Never got why some of our fans loved Mackie. Not for me.

Christ on a bikeā¦ā¦ can we ever shake off this fatalism that we canāt have very good players at our club?!?!?!! Fair play, yet again, to Smudge today. Great performance bar one error on the run which Watford capitalised on and snuck an OG to keep things interesting Canāt speak highly enough about Smyth, Dunne and Varanne today Really, really good

Let's put this to bed... on 20:08 - Jan 1 with 2278 views | smudgehoop | I had Smyth down as a back-up for Dembele this season. However, When Dembele gets fit he will struggle to get ahead of a fellow smudger. Imho, he is the player who has improved the most in the squad so far this season.
