1. He made a very extended point in his pre-match interview that Celar needed 'love' and showed 'courage' in taking the penalty he missed.
2. As he's pronounced himself, again repeatedly, delighted with our 'almost perfect' summer recruitment, his judgment about this squad, including Celar, is at stake.
3. We don't have anyone else, bar a couple of kids.
MC probably shouldn't keep talking up his international appearances, though, as he hasn't scored for Slovenia in 17 apps either. Even Dykes has been (a lot) better for Scotland (and yes, though I never rated him highly, I'd take a swap with Brum through clenched teeth and with open arms right now).
Law of averages suggests, even if he hardly deserves to, he has to score sometime. As he's quite reminiscent of a stopped clock, presumably even he'll be in the right place and right time a couple of times this season. |  |

Agree, but he probably won't see it this way, as it's his positive judgment about the player that's on the line. Meanwhile, the fans' patience (Gk pathos = suffering) feels to me as much as resignation if not masochism! If Celar doesn't improve, however, it'll be wearing paper-thin even for us.
I also think the patience is as much with Marti as coach in terms of what he's getting/not getting out of his squad, and so there's a double plea here. It's a bit perverse shouting support for Marti while berating Celar, but then we fans are more irrational than sane by definition of course. | |

I don’t think it’s a case of giving up on Celar but I feel it’ll do him good to be taken out the firing line and be fresh for Watford in a quite frenetic week. Can’t see Kolli suddenly getting a game from the start so I’d give Lloyd a chance to be a nuisance and see what happens.

Logically celar should start for all the reasons stated above ….BUT if he does what he has done for every other away game he has played … absolutely nothing ! Up front half arsed running back and fourth , not holing the ball up , being offside , not causing a nuisance, not winning headers then he comes off without seeing the half out as we just cannot afford to play with 10 men for another hour waiting to concede . |  | | |
