Stu Armstrong on 20:39 - Jun 4 with 2656 views | SFC_Referee | Well I wish him all the best but tbh I think this may be the best for both saints and him. But still I’m sure he’ll always be welcome back at St Mary’s, especially with all the work and performances he’s put in for the club, from scoring his first goal for us against Fulham (which I’m pretty sure he got a brace against that game) to his most recent one against Preston, but not forgetting his most memorable one when he scored against Newcastle to send us top of the premier league! Sure wouldn’t mind getting in another younger player like him [Post edited 4 Jun 20:41]

Sadly the only thing certain in football is that players get older and start to decline, it comes to them all. The trick is to leave a club with you reputation intact, Rickie Lambert did just that, in his final season here you could see he wasnt as sharp as he had been, it is always sad to see a hero who stays just that bit too long and so his legacy is tarnished. I think Stuey has bowed out at St Mary's just at the right time for all

What are the words?, never mastered it.
Stu Armstrong on 23:32 - Jun 4 with 2341 views | TripleNiemi | Absolutely. Epitomises the word professional which is more often than not lacking in the modern game and very similar in stance for me as Jack Cork (another consummate pro that passed through the club). Wish Stu nothing but the very best. Now just hope the Lallana stuff was all BS….

For once I don’t believe the word Pompey appears anywhere in his ditty….

Stu Armstrong on 08:57 - Jun 5 with 2137 views | SonicBoom | Well I like him. Can be direct and creative and one of those players that you feel could actually score from around the box and we don't have many. That said he never really had the impact he should have had. For many years he never cemented a place in the side and rarely played 5 games in a row (or at least that was my impression). I wish him well but I'll always have a slight sense of frustration that we never got to see more of him.

That would depress me even more if he went there. I get that it could be a lucrative move for him, but I would see it as a bigger challenge to try and help us establish us in the Prem rather than to try to get Fulham to 12th.

Do we know it was Stu preferring to try and make a couple of extra pennies being out of contract, or was it the club who maybe thought we could cope? Suspect it will be player, but haven’t read or seen any comm’s. Either way, if it was Stu’s choice he hasn’t gone by throwing any toys so still hold him in high regard.

He has been released by the club. That might be by agreement. The fact is, he has only been a bit part player this season, and behind Smallbone. Says it all.

Yes, but "His hair's like Baldrick out of Blackadder (the first series)" doesn't really scan as well.
Stu Armstrong on 10:09 - Jun 6 with 1753 views | Bridders2 | Our most intelligent and creative player by a country mile who should have featured more, when everybody else was passing sideways or backwards Stu was making his trademark diagonal runs or slipping through a pass and looking to open their defence. We haven't had a player like that since Lallana who ironically we may get back when he's too old. Very sad that we couldn't keep Stu for our PL return.
