Choosing some living ones (just in case they're passing by LFW - which one of them conceivably could be) - I could play this game all day long, so just going for ten off the top of my head...

Saw documentary about his troubles with Tourettes.
Definitely a brilliant songwriter, but that doesn't mean he enjoys schmoozing with fancy music execs in L.A. or performing in front of 200k people like he did at Glastonbury recently.
Never meet your heroes, and all that, but I met Robert Smith once and he was completely sound so I could pass a few hours of slow pints in his company discussing the Rangers.

Funnily enough, I did see P P Arnold down the pub in West London, about 35 years ago, when bizarrely she was fronting my mate's band, who were playing the pub. (They were quite a technically accomplished band as it happens, but they were all pretty amazed she was available and fairly soon, she wasn't.)
PS, this was the band:

A friend of mine has had always some kind of weird fan dom with Gary Numan.
He has probably seen him perform I would say its definitely in three figure numbers now.
And he did pay £300 to go on a boat trip up the Thames on a rainy autumn evening and the guests got to speak to the great man and had their picture taken with him.
To me, that would be a total waste of dosh but a couple of the fans had come over from Seattle and New York. Wow that's called being a "fan" .
Anyhow he obviously got the photo and a chat with his hero.
When I asked what Gary Numan was like, my mate said he was very cold and non communicative. So that was £300 well spent !!
But Numan has Aspergers, a form of Autism, so hardly a surprise.
Good to see you posting again Brian.
Time off for good behaviour in the close season perhaps. 👌
