Can anyone explain to me..... on 17:06 - Sep 9 by nix | Apologies. I thought it was as a result of the meeting with the culture Secretary that was supposed to happen this morning. My mistake! It's just a total tone deaf decision by the FA with no consideration for their largest stakeholders: the fans. [Post edited 9 Sep 2022 17:09]

We don't actually know that the FA weren't asked to postpone the weekend unofficially. It would be difficult for them to go against this advice and probably not in their interests to make it public. The grass roots ban is a strange one though. I'd imagine in many cases it will lead to cancelling the fixtures, not postponement. I'll be playing cricket on Sunday weather permitting... Not a toff either btw!

Can anyone explain to me..... on 17:21 - Sep 9 by BlackCrowe | FA and EFL get the call wrong yet again shocker. Cricket and Rugby decided that as she loved all sports it would be the right things to do, and to sing the National Anthem and have a minutes silence. Why 'toffs' or politicians come into it god only knows....it was purely the hopeless decision making of the football authorities and nothing else. Ps. I'm going to the Oval on Sunday, so assume I'm officially a 'toff'. |
Agreed. And I was due at the Oval Today ! But I suspect it’s as much about policing as it is about respect. You could probably pool all police at Rugby & Cricket and it would be much less in numbers than Football, especially in London, which will be swamped with mourners this weekend….. And probably Next weekend, don’t rule it out. Just guessing.

If it was anything to do with policing why extend to grassroots?

Or the rest of the country arguably. I'd actually be more sympathetic if all London games were postponed this weekend because of the need for police to be in Central London, but the rest of the country went ahead. Walsall v Northampton, for instance, is hardly likely to drain police resources very much.

Can anyone explain to me..... on 15:36 - Sep 9 by James_Paddocks | The fact my boy's football has been binned this weekend, is mind bendingly stupid. "Dad, why can't I play football this weekend?" "Because you need to stay home and mourn." |
It's important that kids get to remember the Queen as a killjoy who never wanted them to enjoy themselves.

Can anyone explain to me..... on 17:05 - Sep 9 by QPRcounsellor | You're right, they do want to virtue signal, not realising that a far better way of doing it would have been black armbands, national anthems, minute silences etc. What complete fckwits. Do they actually like football? [Post edited 9 Sep 2022 17:08]

We could always play a 96 minute game...oh hang on.

Can anyone explain to me..... on 22:53 - Sep 9 with 948 views | Konk | I was taking 3 of my son’s mates to their first game at Ashton Gate tomorrow. Tickets booked when the fixtures were announced. City’s game postponed whilst Bristol Bears v Bath has been moved from tonight to 17:30 tomorrow. Logicagogo. I’m one of those who think it would have been better to carry on with tributes. Feel sorry for all those pubs/clubs that have bought in extra stock with home games planned and fans who have paid out for travel.
