Not like the Cardiff doube, but a doube all the same. This thread has been brought to you by ‘Doube’ The history making word with one L of an impact. The Officials ANDY WOOLMER 👀 Robert Hyde and Natalie Aspinall Fourth Official : Charles Breakspear First Swans game Woolmer officiates this season, he is the referee Steve Cooper made allegations against of having issues with him and Swansea City. He was the fourth official which brought about a whole lot of touchline reporting when Ryan Manning was sent off against Fulham. Thereafter he was involved in reporting Swansea City for a variety of infringements on and off the pitch. Despite Fulham committing similar and in some cases far worse touchline issues which were overlooked. Let’s hope Woolmer comes to Swansea with clarity and an independent view. Swansea City v Barnsley : Matchday Thread 21/22 UPDATED on 15:57 - Apr 15 with 1377 views | Dr_Parnassus | Half time stats. Swansea - Barnsley Possession %: 75 - 25 Shots: 3 - 9 Shots on target: 0 - 3 Corners: 1 - 4 Just Swansea Pass count: 382 Long balls: 19 Long ball %: 4.9 Ludicrous style of play rearing it’s head here. Not sure how much more proof he needs to ditch this rubbish. We need to go direct here and add some pace and variety to the passing and I hope we don’t just leave it to the last 10 mins. 75% possession, almost 400 passes and not a single shot on target against one of the poorest teams in the league. 3 efforts all half while they have had THREE times as many. GO DIRECT

Swansea City v Barnsley : Matchday Thread 21/22 UPDATED on 15:57 - Apr 15 with 1376 views | union_jack | Why the hell do they play like this when we know they’re capable of so much more???? This is a borefest with the best chance going to Barnsley. Well I think so because I was lucky enough to miss the last 15 mins of the first half.

That’s the frustration, and it was entirely predictable of course. Been saying it for the last few days how we would approach this one. If he sees a poor team then he uses it to promote Martinball, but sometimes to the detriment of the result. Management is about getting the very best out of your squad. This style hamstrings us, we still may win of course but as you say; we are capable of so much more. No doubt last 20-25 mins, if still not ahead, he will ditch it and play properly. Hopefully then we can nick it, but we shouldn’t be hampering ourselves like this and leaving ourselves a realistic window of 20 mins at the end to win games. I’m hoping we get two halves to compare. One half of Martinball and one half of sensible ball. Would make for some interesting statistical comparisons. [Post edited 15 Apr 2022 16:08]

Swansea City v Barnsley : Matchday Thread 21/22 UPDATED on 16:19 - Apr 15 with 1257 views | Dr_Parnassus | This is why I find it hard to get excited by Martin. He will always revert to this type of football. It’s atrocious. No matter how much proof there is of a better way to play he will always get some leeway by playing sensibly then coming back to this rubbish.

Because he is wedded to a style of play that doesn’t work. How can we keep a run going when he reverts to these tactics? There is a reason he’s never managed to get a team into the top half. You are seeing that reason today.
