Ok, so we arent doing as well as most of us thought we would.
However, we all know we should have had a new striker in during the last window, but didnt and this appears it might have been a mistake.
If form continues the way it is, Stoke etc will beat us, and we will be almost where we were last season......ergo no real improvement, and a squad thats fat, old, lazy, or comtractually obliged to play every game.
However, next season will need more players, as some will be leaving us, so who do you want to pick those players and next seasons formations?
So, do we keep Warburton (Stick) or do we get rid (twist)

I don't like the way a few things are being handled tbh. If Barbet, Ball, Wallace, Adomah aren't getting deals then it would be a decent thing to do to say that now so we can give them a big send off tomorrow night. This is something Onuoha brought up in our interview with him as well, and we did similar to Luongo.
This thing with Warburton has dragged on for weeks now where the journos are basically talking like it's already happened, because of course it's already happened, the execs are giving it "well if we make a change we make a change but if he stays then if that and the other" and Warbs has to go and front up every week and answer questions about his job. Proper dead man walking.
Not good. Not right. Very poor look. Lousy behaviour IMO.

Has anybody stopped to think that maybe Warburton doesn't want a new contract or maybe he wants too much money? There is also the spectre of the owners. Who knows how much pressure they are putting on LF and Hoos to get the club promoted? Especially after loosening the purse strings last summer. They haven't got a never ending money pot and must be getting fed up with forking out £1m a month. I know I would be and I support the club!

I really don't want Warbs to go but if he does, I'd like the new man to be Nigel Clough. Huge amount of experience as a player and a manager, used to tiny budgets, doing the business at Mansfield.
Plus if it all goes wrong, we don't destroy the legacy of one of our true heroes, as would be the case with Ainsworth.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Good choice but the only times he has been south of Derby were away matches, family holidays and when his old man had that brief spell at Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.

It is quite scary/alarming how we have pivoted from a club on the up and operating in the right way for the majority of the time, to one now that seems to have lost whatever values and principles it had to get us on to a more positive place.
Maybe we were just so abysmal and screwed up from when we got promoted under Warnock to when we got relegated under Redknapp, that we took the slightest positive as such a huge step back towards being club we can be proud of, both on and off the field.
I feel so fragile! Argh, let me off!!!
clubs are always one good transfer window away from being transformed and one bad one away from collapsing, i think we've shown that quite well in the last 2 Januarys

There is only one constant in our under performing for seven years now and that is Les Ferdinand, Director of Football.
Very few decent players signed. Wasted all the parachute money. Living off the Eze transfer.
Our other teams are bottom of the table. Very few youngsters coming through.
He is trying to protect his own role by getting rid of Warburton. He blamed Warburton for not signing a striker in the January window - wouldn't Les be responsible for this? What about Warburton was told Henrick was available at the last minute - who approved this deal? Les?
Who is Dave McIntyre getting his information from? Seems to be in the know. I don't think it would be Lee Hoos.
Something stinks.

I think the last three years is, fundamentally, down to MW. The club had been droning on about how they were going to do things properly for years but still kept getting it wrong, it’s only since MW has been in situ that they’ve been walking the walk. I guess that will become clearer now if MW does, indeed go, by the replacement. I fully expect the tired old names that everybody has heard of, that any 12 year old with a passable knowledge of football would come up with. Or maybe I’ll be proven wrong, I hope so for the good of the club.
This is QPR. We’d find trouble in paradise, we don’t need to go looking for it.

Difficult to know where to start with that post, isn't it? Apart from the fact we haven't under-performed in relation to the budget, Les was also here when Eze was first brought to the club, and his entire development came in a system he helped put in place - which got us by miles the biggest deal on a player who came through our own ranks since Les himself.
We've also signed quite a few very decent and promising players for hardly any money.
Didn't want to reply to it directly as I'd have got bad-tempered, but whatever the rights and wrongs of the Warburton situation, it's not going to help anyone doing "Evil Les" again.
Not to mention how queasy a lot of the speculation/conspiracy theory involved is.

Totally aligned with this view. It's been poor leadership both on and off the pitch and it is very obvious that something is going on behind the scenes. It does not appear to be financial in nature, but could the club be changing hands?

I'd agree Warburton is the man who deserves the most credit for the last 3 years but I don't think any of it happens without the work done by Ferdinand and his team over the last few years.

Yeah, the club changing hands - that's what I've been thinking.
That weird shareholder comms from a couple of months back and the interest of that American group.

Most of the other points have been addressed but 'wasted all the parachute money'?
It was eaten up by long contracts of players signed by Warnock, Hughes and Redknapp all long before Les arrived.

For a fully rounded view one has to consider all signings and contracts since Ferdinand walked through the door, not just the last 3 years (and since Warburton, tellingly)
Also consider; - 10m+ on Loungo, Washington, Burisuik, Cherry, Poulter, Perch, Smithies. Only smithies really fetched a profit. Cherry I think we got our money back. The rest dead money. - Contract inefficiencies of BOS, Manning. And more £multi-million down the swanny that should of been avoided with foresight. Also, the resulting and panicky 4 year deals handed out to Hamalainen and Kakay in its wake. - One youngster through the academy sold for profit. Darnell Furlong. In 7+ years. And nothing seemingly in the pipe unless you consider lads that can barely get a game in the 6th tier as our next best hope.
One could argue the multi-million generation of the Eze transfer is arguably cancelled out by the above multi-million losses.

In fairness there was also Freeman but, other than that, couldn't agree more.

I'd agree some of those signing in the first 2 years coming down didn't work out to say the least.
What I think Ferdinand has brought is a change of mindset and culture to the club to try and develop players, Warburton was the first manager him and Hoos were given free reign to appoint and it fitted in with what they wanted to do and has worked well.
We're in a position now where we have 5/6 players who we should be able to sell for decent money or be able to build a good team around them, i guess we'll see this summer if that was all down to Warburton or not.

He looks and sounds to me angry, fed-up and really upset. I feel sorry for him, but also feel he has to carry at least some of the responsibility for the shocking fall-off since Feb. The players, having said that, have been, more often than not, gutless and guileless. I stand by what I say that they should be booed at HQ tomorrow night, which the Stoke performance alone warrants.
I think it would be better for Mark's mental health, and the health of the club, if he could stop being such a nice guy and, just for once, refuse to keep telling us that he 'can't speak highly enough' of the squad, the medical team, the tea lady and everyone else. It's gushing rhetoric and just won't wash. It's also the same thing Solskjaer did in the last weeks at Man U, and the players pushed him under a bus in return. How can he say, on the one hand, we fans were right to boo after the Peterboro game, and then revert to this nonsense? It starts to sound like passive aggression to me.
I am sure, however, the Teflon-smothered Hoos and Evil Les will come up smelling of roses regardless. Eustace and Banfield, however, also need to go if Warbs isn't renewed, after which the Board will have a lot of thinking to do.

You might knock him for his team selections and the recent form but you can't question his professionalism and that he's been a great ambassador for the club over the last 3 years

I thought Les’s responses were not that insightful, especially the part around 2mins 45 secs.
“If we make a change, we make a change” what logic is that?
“If people don’t understand it they don’t understand it and I would understand them not understanding it” wtf? Why would you understand it?
“I suppose it will be or whoever decides will need to come out and explain it” so the DoF doesn’t know who makes the decision on sacking the manager?
“Decisions are in the best interests of Queen’s Park Rangers” thanks, I thought they were in the interests of Lincoln Red Imps FC of the Gibraltar National League!!
This reeks of incompetence and confusion. Will Warburton be happy with this sort of response? Given some of his previous history, he may decide to walk before being scapegoated.
One question I would have asked, who is responsible for recruiting a strike ‘force’ of Dykes, Gray and Austin? And have they done enough this season? That isn’t a loaded question just an area we should review and improve on for next season.
You would rather Les discussed MW's position and offer/no offer in detail ahead of speaking to MW?
THAT would be unprofessional etc etc etc

I can’t make sense of your post to reply? Should it say ‘…not offer any…’
If so, what I think would be more helpful/appropriate/professional, is to not have had the interview in the first place, especially at a club fund raiser and also not with a radio station ahead of official club channels.
If Les did plan or want to speak, then his responses could, and should, have been more professional by being logical and with more thought.

I think Eustace will be the cut price option and we could see him appointed if no one from the DoF or Head of Academy’s network is available and/or in our price range.
These owners probably have one more year of this in them before growing tired of being in the Championship and no progress made on a new stadium.
We are at a very precarious stage of our existence.
