I quite like Newby but itās a bad change that. Campbell had looked dangerous and was causing problems for their defence.

And injured. Still completely baffled why CHARMAN didn't come on?

How old were they? Iām betting it wasnāt a āmillennialā either, whoāve only known good times, in the main.
Mansfield Town (H) Match Thread on 21:32 - Mar 22 with 2965 views | IOMDale | Fookās sake. Lose possession with a ridiculously overhit pass in midfield, Mansfield break on the wing and Bowery is left with a tap in in the middle. Doesnāt matter whether weāve been the better side, weāll likely lose again. Mansfield have been toss too, given theyāre around the play offs. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

1-0 Mansfield. Lost the ball in midfield, they pushed it to the right, ball across the box and slotted home. we had been the better side this half but fell for the sucker punch. `Dorset gets `MOM

Mansfield Town (H) Match Thread on 21:46 - Mar 22 with 2524 views | Cedar_Room | Full Time 0-1 On the plus side Oldham also lost so essentially weāre in the same position in the league as we were before - 9 points off the relegation zone is pretty healthy at this stage of the season BUT thats 6 games now without a win. We looked completely out of ideas in the final third. Who was there to make the killer pass or the clever run? Who was even there to have a bloody shot once inside the box for gods sake?? Iām sure weāll hear from Stockdale that we were unlucky and needed to put away our chances, heāll give an honest assessment but itās another game where I feel less confident that, should we survive, weāll be doing any better than this next season.

Absolutely. 15 games in 2022 and we have only scored more than 1 goal on 2 occasions ( 1 of those was Scunthorpe!!). Midfield was powderpuff too at times tonight. Defence looked decent & EOC & Downing will hopefully stay injury free to the end of the season. Dorset is definitely a good player for 19 but just has those couple of errors in him that hopefully will reduce as he gets experience & confidence Keep saying it but another team that seemed poor, yet we donāt beat any of them
Mansfield Town (H) Match Thread on 21:48 - Mar 22 with 2438 views | rich_dale | It's beyond poor now, I feel sorry for the players because there was a lot of endeavour tonight. There's no plan to score goals. Mansfield bring on a striker and he scores. We bring on a winger for a striker and our attacking play peters out. What's the plan, tapping it around on the edge of the box at home. Charman did eventually come on but was invisible, no doubt not helped by the lack of confidence shown in him by the manager that signed him. It's all a bit mad.

I think thatās whatās really riling me right now. Mansfield were not impressive at all - if thatās the level required for a play off push/top three challenge, it is easily attainable. Iāve said it before but we need, as a team, to be playing fifteen/twenty yards further up the pitch. All of the football we play is in front of the opposition and without pace or a maverick, weāre inevitably going to struggle to break them down.
Mansfield Town (H) Match Thread on 21:52 - Mar 22 with 2338 views | Frog | Keep playing the same set up, same game plan and same players, it's going to work one day......................... There were some good passages of play but absolutely toothless in the last quarter, depressing to watch, again.
Mansfield Town (H) Match Thread on 21:55 - Mar 22 with 2272 views | kel | Really bad that tonight but Iāve come to expect it now. My mood was lifted slightly by the car full of Mansfield weirdos who were singing about going to Oldham next week with one of their voices breaking/balls dropping mid chant. They then drove off towards Rooley Moor Road in the completely opposite direction to the motorway. Not a brain cell between them.
Mansfield Town (H) Match Thread on 22:07 - Mar 22 with 2077 views | 442Dale | Not sure what we were trying to achieve brining Newby on when Campbell had to go off. It only served to increase the amount of overplaying around the box without the ball going into it. Becoming a real struggle to even work out what we are trying to be as a side, confidence levels are clearly hitting rock bottom. Mansfieldās tactical change should have seen us really go for it, yet despite doing alright that was all it was and any momentum we might have had was lost with the sub.

That's a sad reflection on so call "entertainment " at San Spotty, when it's more fun watching the opposing fans acting the goat.
Mansfield Town (H) Match Thread on 22:12 - Mar 22 with 1980 views | sooty_dale | 1600 home fans, losing more every week due this spirit sapping football. There's not even any chumps league on this week to use as an excuse for the poor attendance. If the club intend on selling season tickets in the summer, actually producing some shots on goal might give half a chance of selling some.

I felt sorry for the players too. They played well and each put in a damn good shift. Dorsett and Downning in particular were outstanding. For them to play in a system with no striker for a period is an insult. Robbieās to blame tonight, nobody else. [Post edited 22 Mar 2022 22:30]
