Big thanks to Jamie for giving up his time to chat to us this week!

Tangled up in blue.

What a great listen.

How refreshing to hear a Dale Director talk without waffling and bullshitting fans. He sounds the type you'd go to the pub with and talk Dale all night.

It'd be great if you lads could get the other newbies on your podcast.

Made me want to go straight out and buy a SC. Interesting that when Jamie said the board are working very hard it was instantly believable and credible (not least to sort out the inherited mess), in stark contrast to claims of working very hard by others. Unless you count handing out excessive undeserved pay awards, contract extensions and cashing in on a position of power working very hard?

Good to know the board now has the same values as most of its fanbase. Inclusive, not exclusive, is exactly the change the club needed.

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Excellent episode.

The day that spin, bluff and bluster were kicked out the door by a healthy dose of humility.

Spot on, Jamie is one of us, Bottomley never was. The Club has been used and abused by those tasked with looking after it, none of them come out of it smelling of roses. In a ideal world following the AGM i would have liked to see everyone of the Directors leave the Club alongside Andrew Kelly. Had they got their own way we could have lost our Club and they would have just walked away. They know what they tried to do anyway and it won’t be forgotten, ever.

I simply cannot believe the difference between the club now and the club a month ago. It’s now got some vibrancy and as long as Bottomley goes, I will be chomping at the bit to buy a season ticket.

A good mate of mine said all the three new directors have put them self forward for supporters (via Fitz, the podcast and the chairman on the official site) where we were a month ago to now is complete chalk and cheese.

No lies, just honest answers to honest questions, we’ve been lacking that a touch recently.

I agree that AK should be asked to step down as a board member....
His willingness to deal and possibly sell to Halsall reduces his standing for me, ok he may be useful for the academy etc.
But as a board member he has to go like DB as CEO....

He could be offered a Life Vice-Presidency as a recognition of his years of service in lieu of his directorship. That way, he's not voting on Boardroom matters, but could still carry on with the Academy if he so chooses. He's still a significant shareholder.

One thing I certainly don’t expect to see is certain recently deposed directors swanning round in hospitality areas next season.
Let them, if they want to come to games, endure the Sandy Lane toilets and overpriced pies!

What have they put up? If they aren’t allowed to buy shares, surely they haven’t put a penny into the club as yet?

Excellent listen and refreshingly honest. It sounded like he wanted Bottomley gone as much as everyone else, which can only be good news.

Probably not narked since without the clamour from fans the club would now be owned by a ne'erdowell.
My thought was that they would rather have people inside the tent pissing out and being useful. Having said that, I don't think we are anywhere near cigar time yet and there will be lots of bumps in the road back to normalcy.

The finances are now the key to the future. There must be an end to any unneccessary spending, new fundraising initiatives and a laser focus on the players we put on the pitch, their contracts and what happens when they come to an end.
New revenue streams are essential, as is the reinstatement of those that were wilfully abandoned. The Club's reach has to be widened and deepened,

If you listen to the interview you will hear Jamie say that he’s put his money up but won’t receive his shares until shares are ready to be allocated. So I guess he’s telling the keyboard warriors to put their cash up or just give them a chance to turn things around before they continue to warrior on their keyboards.

Brilliant interview. Very open and he came across as a sound bloke.

It was good humoured of him to mention his past . I know streaking isn't to be condoned but we've all done mad things on an away day. It's strangely endearing to have someone like that on the board.
