Dale Trust membership 21-22 19:55 - May 11 with 16671 views | DaleiLama | Tip of the cap to Boromat who posted the Trust membership tweet on the AGM thread - I started this thread (which hopefully admin will pin) to encourage anyone and everyone reading this to part with a fiver to join. Confession - I have never been a Trust member before, but am now. This, imho, may just be the most important season to become a member since the Trust's inception, since I believe they will have a vital role during the closed season in determining how our club is run next season. Like many, I had reservations about how "impartial" the Trust was (based entirely on rumour and hearsay and not on fact I concede), but the actions of the Trust recently have shown them in their true colours - for the fans by the fans. Again, imho, the more fans the Trust represents, the louder their voice has to be heard. I would urge all Daleys everywhere who care about our club to join and part with a fiver to support the Trust team representing us. Dale Trust membership 21-22 on 22:10 - May 11 with 7046 views | DaleFan7 | Agree with everything you say here. I have been a trust member in the past and have always commended their work in fundraising for the club in the past I was just unsure of their influence and allegiances within the club. Like you say, it is evident from recent events that they are listening to their members and are acting on that feedback which I can only thank them for. I will be joining this season, too.

Having been critical towards the Trust in the past i now concur with the above posts. Club employees sitting on the Trust Committee was always going to raise eyebrows but at the the time i believe it was a case of needs must and positions needed filling. It was a unhealthy arrangement anyway but it’s in the past. As a outsider looking in i think supporters had valid concerns to view the relationship between those running the Club and the Trust as a little too close, a situation that leads to the Trust being compromised, probably subconsciously in a lot of cases. If the Trust are guilty of anything though it’s mistakingly believing that everybody in the Boardroom has the same moral compass and love of the Club as themselves, it’s now becoming more and more obvious that one person in particular doesn’t, the person who purports to be the CEO. Maybe the Trust had no other option but to stay close, otherwise all means of communication will have been cut, he’s good at that is our unqualified CEO. The people running the Trust are all good people (that’s never been in doubt) who love the Club and as was rightly pointed out to me very recently, everybody wants different things from the Trust, they don’t all want it operating in a certain way. Wise words that made me think. Personally, i’m glad they have called the EGM and come out fighting, we have a imposter in our Club and he’s ripping the heart out of it very quickly, he needs to go. I will be renewing my membership now alongside my sons, i think it’s time for the fans to come together under one umbrella.

I think you may be off target with your diagnosis. I dontthink you can say the CEO does not love RAFC. He has been a strong supporter over many years, much longer than many who post on here. I dont know him personally but I do know of his support through thick and mainly thin over many years. The problem is, I believe, he thought his love for the club meant he couldsuccessfully run the club (havent we all had such dreams at some stage). Sadly reality didnt kick in and circumstances allowed him to pursue that dream and apparently there was nobody to tell him...dont be stupid, what makes you think you could successfully run RAFC. I suppose its all about checks and balances and there was no one to stop a dreamer pursuing his dreams when he had neither the experience or skills (sounds a bit like some of our managerial appointments as well - Joyce, Eyre, BBM) And I suspect the worse the situation has got the harder he has ‘tried’ to to see his dreams become reality....yes its become a downward spiral. Its a lack of competence for the job and a lack of oversight in seeing its beyond his ability.. Tommy Cannon didnt love the club ...the potential American investors dont love the club but I dont think you can say, for all his many faults that the CEO doesnt love the club....thats not a criteria for a successful CEO. He was once one of us. He needed saving from himself and there has been nobody in the leadership of the club able or willing to do that. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Good! Unity is strength! The more Trust members, the more weight the Trust have to back our concerns with the board. Its due process, the Trust have to be our initial vehicle to forward our views; protests and boycotts are secondary actions. [Post edited 12 May 2021 19:43]

Imagine a situation where the number of Trust members exceeds the number of Season Tickets sold at the end of July. That would be a very powerful message. (Noting that ST prices are current yet to be announced unlike a number of other clubs)

Notlob have sold 3,000 ST's already in the space of a week, albeit on the back of a promotion. We haven't even got a clue when ours will be offered for sale, or how much they will be.

I thought no STs were going on sale til June at any clubs? Or maybe that's just L1 clubs. We used to be a L1 club. Then we got that plan. Now we're L2.

Not sure I am expecting the club to try to sell tickets until they know what the guidance will be on capacity or spacing. How can they, unless they sell tickets without allocating seats at this stage. It does question why Mr Pockney hinted he wasn't sure we'd have enough cash to last the season during the fans forum, but we are now no longer under pressure to bring the cash in. Whenever they announce the ST prices, there will be an outcry on the cost, whether we are investing in the squad to justify the outlay, whether we can have our old seats back, whether we get a partial refund on unused 2020/21 tickets, whether we get discount vouchers blah blah blah . Whatever they do it won't be pretty.

There's no excuse at all for not saying what the thinking is - or at the least giving an update as to when the details of ST sales might be forthcoming. Now the season is over and we are confirmed as a League 2 club, we have 23 home games to market and know roughly who we will be playing. No excuse for not being able to say to people that they keep their seat for the last season providing the renew within the usual given timeframe. If all seats are up for grabs then there will be anarchy which our ticket office will not be thankful for. Baffling why we are on of the few clubs not selling season tickets it appears.

They’re really missing a trick not telling us how they work. It’s obvious that fans reading it would themselves be in awe of not working as hard and strive to do more to reach the levels of those at a football club.

This is the proper way for a club to communicate to it's fans and the season tickets are excellent value for money at less than a tenner a game, considering how Dale fans feel about the board at the club I hope that they don't over price the s.t's and alienate them even further
