I am perplexed. Just what has happened to our team?

You can all piss off.

We are where we are.

You've been spoiled for many years, and can't cope with adversity, so fk off.

We can't afford a high earning manager, and if we could it wouldn't necessarily guarantee your utopia.

Anyone giving Cooper credit for today's win? You'd be out with your knives had we lost.

Nobody wants a high earning manager - Martinez, Brendan and Potter would all have come relatively cheap and they all did great jobs.

Maybe people just think that a manager who is apparently good at coaching youngsters should have improved our young players rather than making them worse.

Or perhaps that a manager who has said he wants to play good football should actually try and play good football.

We need a manager who can make the best of our situation and Cooper looks incapable of that. Were we 3-4 points and 3-4 places worse off but the side improving and playing good football, Cooper would be loved and everyone would be happy.

Yet we have more points than at this stage last season under potter despite the loss of James and mcburnie .

James was only upto 13 games at this stage and only played 4 full games and McBurnie had 8 goals to his credit. Potter really did have to rebuild from a huge loss of players.
Cooper was handed a squad with many players who came of age under Potter plus two quality seniors.

Yeah, fair enough they weren’t. Even Bidwell isn’t at Mickey Evans level, though maybe he should be...

Mickey Evans was a thug he was not even old fourth division standard. Mind you he could slice the ball into touch with either foot.
He was sent off numerous times. Was probably our worst full back in the last 50 years.

Just how bad does it have to be?
Our keeper has little to do but gets done on the near post from 25 yards at waist height
Bidwell is like a forklift with the wheel locked
Connor is the most negative and risk averse I’ve ever seen him
Cabango is a ray of hope
VDH is out the door in June and marking time
Byers is a milk float consistent at giving the ball away if he tries passing anywhere but sideways and backwards
Dhanda did ok in another cameo but gets subbed and Byers doesn’t- great confidence builder
Celina makes Bambi look aggressive
Grimes is playing beach football and being paid well for it- negative, passive and no leader
Andre is making the midfield look lazy, plodding and uninspired
Surridge works hard but his finishing needs to improve- fat chance of that living on scraps

Ironically, McKay opened them up twice with his passing and apparently Fulton came on later but I didn’t see him. Neither are the junkyard dog that midfield needs.

"Yossarian- the very sight of the name made him shudder. There were so many esses in it. It just had to be subversive" (Catch 22)

Isn't that Coopers job? Yet we looked so tired and negative even when Boro had 2 men sent off. That is the real issue. Without the referee's cards would we have won because when Boro equalised things could have been very different. That's bearing in mind that Boro were rubbish and a dirty bunch of skunks.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Fair point. I wouldn’t play Byers. Perhaps Dhanda might offer something better with a run in the team? I thought he was positive, had a bit of energy and made some good passes. Unless he had a knock, I thought he was unlucky to be subbed.

It’s not a case if not wanting to bust a gut as you say. It’s about game management.

We were no wins in six coming into this game. We were then 3-1 up. Whereas the chances of Boro scoring again with 9 men were slim, they weren’t non-existent and=d if they’d nicked one to go 3-2 then the backsides would have been flapping audibly - on and off the pitch. So they played conservatively to get the win which hopefully we can kick on from.

It was the most sensible ploy on the day even if it was frustrating. Just imagine we’d drawn from a 3-1 and 2 man advantage. Meltdown doesn’t cover it!!

How the hell they would manage with Rochdale at home is beyond comprehension ...
