£3.50 pies on 05:44 - Jul 22 by ColDale

This will be the third year of this deal, with the club accounts earlier this year showing the impact of the first year of the contract. I don't know about them being "not for profit" but its very easy to have that as a soundbite without backing it up. Both club and VCP have been contacted.

Would that be the line in the accounts showing bar & catering income at £347,620, down £51,333 from £398,953 the previous year?

Profit from the pies could buy a scoreboard?

Why?

I think that proves they're not for profit.

That line might not account for the franchise fees received, to be fair, although I cannot see where else catering is, erm, catered for.

When Bury play us we could just put 25% of their name on the scoreboard if we had one.

It was a figure that referred solely to the catering rather than including the bars but your figures make the same point.

Would the fanzine have had to change it's name if it still existed under the circumstances?

I am pretty sure EGP had a right go at the quality of the pies on offer at the the time and referred to them as shite, and made the point that it was in memory of our amazingly good pies they were named.

Pies were amazing back in the early 80’s when I first went, as was bovill with a scoop of mushy peas in it with vinegar.

Normally get the 2 food, 2 drinks and a bag of sweets for £10 offer. Suits me down to the ground that, as it’s split between me and the youngest.
Pie at Joey T’s testimonial were awful. No peppered steak any more.

And that deal is now £12!

I’ll not be getting any more pies this season. Chippy here I come!!

Here is an idea for genius hospitality co.

I can buy 4 Holland’s pies for 2 quid, so if you want to pre order and pre pay, or have a pie every match, you can have one for £2.35 or whatever, do a season ticket deal or involve the club whereby you can buy a season ticket with pie peas and gravy included at all games.

If you know you have been paid for 500 pies pre match, collected at half time it’s a lot easier to organise and know likely numbers needed.

Sorry if Thacks is ranting a bit today but it’s too bloody warm and sadly incompetence for not cool me down.

The time has come. We really need a score board. A proper one with clip art adverts and sometimes the score.
