Fans Forum 27th March 20:56 - Mar 15 with 15676 viewsTwelveAngryMen

The Interim Board have tasked me with organising a fans forum to assist them with understanding our requirements as fans as we look forward and start planning for next season.

Ben Hatton, Michael Bolingbroke and myself are all confirmed to attend. If Ian Currie is available he will attend as well.

Topics under discussion will include season ticket pricing, travel, requirements of exiles, stand allocation, communication, community engagement, the appointment of an SLO and what can be done to deliver the best matchday experience.

The forum will be held at Rowley’s on Wednesday 27th March commencing at 7pm and will strictly be by invitation only. Non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided.

In order to make the discussion as productive as possible the number of attendees will be limited to 50 to include committee members from BST, BSA, The Muckers and representatives from BASIL, Yorkshire Seasiders, Leyland and Chorley and the TKs.

Having received feedback from those groups I have allocated the places available as follows —

BST/BSA/THE MUCKERS — 4 committee places each

BASIL / YORKSHIRE / LEYLAND AND CHORLEY AND TK’s - 2 committee places each.

In addition BST/BSA/THE MUCKERS will be able to nominate up to 4 additional members each.

I require names / addresses / ages for all attendees and also an indication as to whether (boycott period aside) they have been ST holders and if so for how long.

This information is only being sought for demographic purposes.

Assuming the committee members and general members allocation is fully subscribed that brings us to 32.

I am also going to allocate one place to a disability representative (I have asked Chris Beveridge to attend or nominate).

The remaining 17 places ( and any additional places that come available if any of the groups don’t use their full allocation ) will be made available to the general fan base whether affiliated to a particular group or not.

Assuming there is sufficient interest I will look to allocate fair share to U18’s and Seniors.

Anyone other than serving committee members of the above can email me on timfielding82@icloud.com providing the same information I seek of the fans groups nominations to register their interest in attending . If I am over-subscribed I will draw lots.

The deadline for nominations for the open places is Thursday next 7pm.

Hopefully I will see some of you at Burton tomorrow.

Firstly, I agree with the the Forum and the way it's been organised (even if I share concerns about maybe a couple of individuals who might attend. However all fans pulling together and fresh start for all), for this first meeting. Well done to all those involved. But (and you know there would be a but....)....

I'd like the know the reasons why it won't be streamed. As both the Receiver and Board have mentioned "openness and transparency", streaming this would cover this, allowing as many fans as possible to see this in action. It also avoids the "Chinese Whispers" that will happen after the event, and any positive message the Club wants to send will be drowned out.

I could go on, but I think you could guess my other concerns. Seems like a missed opportunity to me.

Yes Spud.

Agree with Lala.

Hannibal's posted some good stuff too.

Has the receiver said no to it being streamed? He won't even be there?

I find your attitude quite sad Hannibal.

You might be right about new owners not wanting to engage, but I don't know of many businesses anywhere who don't look to consult with the customer base.

You are certainly right that people can put in ideas individually without recourse to organised groups, but that is what they will be - individual views, and easily lost. I think it is far better to try to influence the collective view of the larger groups, myself. And BST has around 2,000 members I think at the moment.

We all know why you are antipathetic to AVFTT as you were unable to cope with the hurly burly there, but they were recently boasting about having 11,000 users and if I wanted to engage with activists and those who are really committed to the club it is the place I would start, albeit with all the usual health warnings.

Some of the remainder of your comments do you no favours really. We know you resent the insiders, but people like TAM are where they are for good reason and he in particular has done far more than most to lead the crusade and reach out to and engage with other fans every step of the way, particularly on the legal intricacies. Casually dismissing him as a member of a non-existent clique says more about you than it does about him.

BRR, I am not going to feather your ego any more by actually giving you any respectful response. You don’t deserve it. All I want to say is I hope when new owners do come in that you and your cronies are allowed nowhere near the club when it comes to any policy making organising, manipulating or input of any kind.

As for the ‘hurly burly of AVFTT’...YOU, or one of your cronies banned ME because YOU cannot deal with anyone who sees through your treachery. I suggest you get back on AVFTT where people either agree with you or you ban them. Nobody’s impressed here I think it’s fair to say.

I don't think the way the first fans forum is convened is a good enough reason for personal disagreements. It's not THAT important really.

Maybe not Rotts, but sometimes what transpires during the debate tells us all we needed to know, unfortunately,in this instance.
I will engage when there are new owners and hopefully then there won’t be any elitist thinking being banded about yet again dividing the fanbase.

I just find your responses to BRR almost always disproportionate. As this is a more level-headed board than avftt, I try to point this out respectfully as I find it boring to read. We aren't in cahoots.

I must say Robbie has form for this kind of controlling treacherous behaviour.

At school he was renown for being duplicitous and power-crazed even amongst his Young Conservative junta; especially after he was made Head Prefect. (What he had to do to achieve the position was subject to sordid rumours but never satisfactorily proven).

He immediately went about banning all playground games, music in the common room ( with the exception of Bavarian military marching bands), dinnertime gambling- even laughing aloud ran the risk of 100 lines.

We were all so relieved when the two junior`s parents came forward and pressed charges and he was escorted from the school premises by the police claiming a` misunderstanding`.

NB: Not all of this may be totally factual...

You had me there until "common room" BRR and common??

Anyway back on topic.....

TAM

Suggestions from me

1) An SLO that's able to /allowed to fulfil that remit (That's a dig at our previous owners)

2) Away fans moved back to the East.

3) Can we have a few more rubbish bins in the concourse. (i'm too lazy to hunt them down)

PS Going to keep going on about streaming this fans forum (Please see my previous post)

Repair statues.
All woman board to block the way of the boys' club.
AVFTT posters to walk round with flashing tangerine traffic cones on their heads.
Muckers to share the away section of the east with visiting fans.
Streaming of fans' forums.
Quick and easy beer access for Rot.

Oh, nearly forgot the last suggestion -

Someone to dispose of the rotting seagull carcass that Terry McP has had to walk past every day for the last 6 months.

In the Seasiders' Podcast, TAM said he was at BFC all day, every day during the week and he had to make up the time at his own job at the weekend.

That's not observational, it's hands on.

That's great, BFC needs it, but shouldn't Hatton, Bolingbroke, and Currie do that?

If they can't, they need either help or replacing.

Observational means that you go to board meetings, listen, and report back.
