He is nowhere near good enough. He is one of the reasons I am glad to be out of the premier league, where money was there to be spent and as has been the case for ourselves, millions wasted.

I think we have refreshing and exciting times ahead of us with Potter for the time he is with us.

Tom Carroll will put the odd decent ball in as he has a decent left foot but I hope that in a years time, we no longer carry players like this. Players won't always be on top of their game, however, in Tom's case he rarely has any kind of positive influence on the game.

Unfortunately, given the way the idiots running the club are going about things we are stuck with a few players, for the time being.

You say were stuck with the same players for the time being so does that mean the idiots that run the club your words not mine will be bringing in some good ones pretty soon then and you do realise the new ones that have been brought in for cheap money are to lightweight for this league and that will become more obvious once the winter months set in.

Have to get improvements on Carroll, Fulton, Astro and McKay (McKay is going to be our Championship Clucas.)
Dyer, Naughton, Routledge and Rangell would have been a step up on 7 of the 10 halves we've played this season.

I must say that Dyer and routs would have made a difference today no doubt, they must be off on loan .

Hes regressing at a rate of knots

Suprised Dyer or Narsingh havent seen game time on the right tho

"Michu, Britton and Williams could have won 3-0 on their own. They wouldn't have required a keeper."

Are the likes of Dyer, Routs, Narsingh on match bonuses? If so, is that the reason we're not playing them?

We won our first two games. Then after the Birmingham debacle Potter changed the system and we were much, much better against Leeds. Then he changed back and we were poor again, losing for the first time.

It's probably only now he's thinking wholesale personnel changes might be in order.

Sorry ,but the manager fecked up today ,the side that started against Leeds should have started today ,we went backwards against Leeds when Carroll came on and I understand fer needs nursing but he should have played the first 55 and then taken been off ,you get your noses in front first then try hold on ,potter got this one wrong

Only just read this post but on the way home from the match I sent a text saying exactly that to friend who had asked me what had gone wrong.

Surely you should always start your strongest side in the hope that you can get a lead and if some players fade later on, you can make substitutions to protect that lead. Much better than playing a weaker team then making substitutions to try to chase the game when you are behind and 2/3rds of the team are knackered and the opposition are making changes to protect their lead.

I know Fer needs to be nursed back to full fitness but if he can only play 30 minutes, why not the first 30? He's not exactly the impact sub type like Jeff.

It's come to the point where I never want to see him wearing a Swans shirt again.

He offers the team zero. Zero going forward, zero going backward and everything f*cking in between.

He needs getting rid of because he will suck the positive play out of anyone who plays near him given how they always have to have his baggage in their thoughts. Today was a prime example where we were forced into playing Celina further back than the Leeds game.

I've had enough of the little hider; he is stealing a living. I was glad Potter took him off at half time, and I hope (f*cking pray) that that was a message to the beings above that he needs replacing.

............but according to some he's an ample replacement for Gylfi.

He is weak, no heart, no right foot, a bottom half championship player when he's playing well. A league 1 player more often than not though.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Yep, most knew it after seeing him get nowhere near in his first stint here.

Nah. He was a technical and forward thinking player in his first spell. Tidy and with potential. He won’t be the last to not deliver against early potential. Assuming he doesn’t that is - he might be going through a bad spell, but anyone who went through our last season is going to have problems and maybe he’ll come good again. Getting on his back won’t help (although I really wish we had the option of Woods instead).

A bad spell usually lasts half a dozen games at most, not 40.

Well yes, there is that 😂. But I’m trying to stay positive for him as he’s clearly low on confidence and whether we like it or not he’s a key part of our midfield.

Everyone has differing opinions, to me he looked a very weak and cautious going forward player in his loan spell with us.

I was really disappointed when we signed him permanently, even more disappointed that he's still with us, hasn't got as much skill as he thinks he has, and even less guts.

Bad spell ? A full season and a half in the premier league and 5 games in the championship and he ain't up to it sorry to say.

That's about 60 games of poor to average pe4formances showing very little ability, fight, heart, strength or desire .

I feel a bit sorry for him, like it was clear with clucas after a few games it's clear with Tom now, better for all concerned that he gets a move, of course if he could get a move he'd be gone, truth is nobody wants him and I suspect that is contributing to his poor form, the realisation that it won't be getting any better any time soon and that he's found his level and it's not even championship.

Needs a few years of tough love in the lower leagues to sort h out, maybe too much too young perhaps.

Where’s the player from 2 seasons ago gone? The one that was busy, creative and forward thinking? I’m hoping that player reappears, because he could be a real handful in this division, but at the moment sadly he is an empty shirt.

You and flash are probably right. I feel a bit sorry for him too, and protective. He seems like a nice guy and he’s one of ours (and we don’t have much choice). I know he’s struggled for a while but just hope he can come good.

Potters making the same mistake as others ,every time he’s played he’s been awful and he’s hooked him a few times now ,he needs to learn the lesson or send this kid out on loan for the season

I think there's a few under 12's teams in the Swansea junior league that he could go out on loan to to get his confidence back

Tom Carroll on 09:35 - Aug 26 with 1000 viewsjack247

He’s never going to cut it as part of a lightweight central midfield duo. He’s not a bad player, but he and Fulton (or Grimes) shouldn’t be made to play together. Not Carrolls fault, not Fultons fault, not Potters fault.

I know it worked at Sheffield United, but the result of playing a midfield duo that are going to get overwhelmed is the creative players get starved off possession and we look toothless.

Spot on post, he wont get the extra time in this division and got found out same with Celina at times dwelling on the ball to be fair to him though trying to create.

You could accept Carroll if he brings something to the table. His dead ball delivery is poor, is not a ball winner or has any presence , creates very little and his passing has gone to pot and adds very few goals to his game.

So Byers maybe will fill his position.

I still think he'd might be alright if he was the only physically frail one in a midfield three. But when all of our midfield are so weak he looks even worse.

I've said it before, a succession of poor, timid managers coached all the positivity he'd learned during his years at Spurs out of him. If Potter could rekindle that, he'd probably be ok but there's no real sign of it happening yet.
