Gone defensive, we all know that it won't work for 40 odd minutes, other managers have tried it.

Sounds like it, I guess trying to cut off the crosses at source. Do they need some pace now, get Montero on there to exploit the space?

Beautiful day up Cheshire way, in the garden listening to Radio Wales. Crowd sounds really loud and sounds like we’re trying to play good football again. Surely, surely, we can get a few loans in to add to the makings of a fine team that Potter’s building ? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Pace is always a good outlet. I suppose he might change things around after he's had a look for 10mins. If Montero comes on I guess you'd either sacrifice McKay in a 5-4-1 (pointless having Montero on without McBurnie to aim at); --------------------- Mulder ---------------------- -------Rodon - van der Hoorn - Olsson ---- Roberts -------------------------------- Grimes -------------- Fulton ----- Carroll -------------- ------ Celina -------------------------- Montero ------------------- McBurnie -------------------- or take off Fulton and look to get on the ball more... --------------------- Mulder ---------------------- -------Rodon - van der Hoorn - Olsson ---- Roberts -------------------------------- Grimes -------------- Celina ----- Carroll -------------- --McKay ------------------------------ Montero ------------------- McBurnie --------------------

If they don't give him 1 x CB, 1 x MF & 1 x ST... I wouldn't be surprised to see him walk. We owe him that surely.

What that tells me is that Potter believes this squad is fragile and is trying to make do to grind out the result. So far his instincts seem to be 'Attack is best form of defence'? Yet he went defensive here. He could have tried to wrestle back control of the game with an attacking sub or 2, he didn't believe that would be successful with the squad in it's current state. IMO.

Perhaps he just wants to weather the storm before trying for the last 15 minutes. We are having shots on goal, just not quite as many as them. As an aside Sheff United beating QPR 2:1 away, so they are not the soft touch the first 2 games suggested they were and our lads did well.

QPR joint bottom with reading at the moment, can see them struggling on the back of that £42m fine re FFP and a transfer ban.
